Hella good course yesterday. Did some tweaking to lower the ride height (again) over the last few days. Totally cured the understeer issues I was having. Turns out lower (to a point at least) is better. I had been running the coilovers out of RCE's recommendations in their instructions since I bought them used and didn't see the distances the spring perch should have been to certain attachment bolts.

Ride height is at about 15 3/4" front and 15 7/8" rear. Hard to believe I started the year up around 17", lowered down to 16 1/4", and now this is where it's sitting.

Immediate difference on my first run and felt much more compliant driving to the site. Car was much more neutral and driving in full rain before this really let me feel the car out at lower grip levels to see what it would do at the limit. The car actually oversteers a bit like it should if you get on it too early. This run felt great but after it dries up even more for others in the afternoon. New rule for next event: STX gets to choose their heat if it's raining. I'm the only one in STX.

Did a very worth while test and tune event before this one to get some details figured out and it made a big difference. Best finish of the year so far locally.

I feel like I'm the only one posting in this thread, but here's day 2 of this weekend. Didn't improve in the afternoon, but this was my 3rd run in the morning heat. It felt good and just flowed. The rotation through the first back corner was really good. Car really came into itself this weekend.

You're not the only one. I've posted my bad driving in here several times. We take June-July off for the heat. I should be back in August.

I could certainly post some videos but we have a small site and I went nuts and my car is an XA car now. I've been a Solo chair for the last 4 years (more or less) so my skills have degraded. I'll be happy to post a video if anyone is interested. It will definitely be under the category of "Tips for What Not to Do".

Ok. I’ll bite. While this was my fastest this past Sunday, it felt riddled with small errors until the ~45 sec mark of the video. Actually, data easily confirms those errors. ;-)
Moral victory was being ~1.5 seconds behind on PAX vs Strano (1st overall out of 110 if you weren’t already assuming something like that)

Finger Lakes Region at Seneca Army Depot. Tour coming at the end of July.

I have several videos posted to the previous page.. But here is another one for fun.
Another local event from a month ago. Had many of our best driving this day including two national champions.
Was a fun and challenging course. Ended up 2nd pax out of 87 drivers. Only about a half second behind our wonderful STS champ. Just about the closest I've gotten to him.

OK, here we go. This is from almost two weeks ago. Our site isn't huge but it's a great facility and the pavement is great. I had a couple of key areas that cost me almost a full second but I am rusty and wasn't really ever super fast anyway. Enjoy.

My latest, car is feeling good. Going to Finger Lakes TnT this weekend to prep for the Tour and test some odds and ends on my car.

I drove Dave's XA BRZ car a couple weeks ago, what a riot. First time I've driven with the 'traction mod' but I couldn't tell you about it because it was so wild lol. Just got one run, and I am excited for him to get some of it sorted out and maybe beg for another run haha.

Here are my runs from Packwood Tour this last weekend. STX FRS, pretty straightforward setup (300/500, karcepts bars f/r, osg). Not perfect runs but really happy how the car is working.

And here is my run 2 from the Packwood tour on Day 1.
Car was performing great as always. I dropped 2 tenths on my third run but my GoPro had an error and the video didn't record.
No video or data logging from day 2 because I forgot my tablet when I went to grid.

Here's my latest efforts. I can say that I have the car very well setup at this point. I just need to get a bit better. I was good enough for second in XA at this event and in the top 20 in raw time out of 100 so that was a good feeling. For record, this is the Great Lakes Division Solo Series hosted by Ohio Valley Region SCCA.

I derped with video a bit and missed my fast run, sadly. My 2nd fastest run from yesterday's Finger Lakes SCCA event. My fastest run was good for the PAX win and 3rd in raw time behind a couple of CM drivers.
