Yesterday the BRZeeee had its underside cleaned, dry ice, then coated in Bilt Hamber Dynax UC.

Changed out the front disks. Knew the drilled DBA XS’s would crack at some point. Changed out to the DBA T3 that is not drilled. Found out that EBC yellows will only last 2 track days. Not buying those again.

Installed ~65lbs of noise abatement. ~30lbs from Amazon Basics version of Dynamat, ~30lbs of mass loaded vinyl, and maybe 5lbs of rockwool. Weights estimated from the shipping weights and the portion used.
*technically I didn’t do this today because at the time of posting it’s 1am locally and I stopped working on it before dinner. also, I’ve had the interior strewn around my garage for almost a week as I’ve worked on it when I had time and today (I mean yesterday) was mostly just reassembling the interior so I can go out of town with it tomorrow and deal with the doors at some future time. **yes I know it’s a sports car, but I like taking trips in it and my spouse hates the noise, so if this succeeds in making it bearable so we aren’t always traveling in the boring sedan, it’s worth the minor weight penalty. |

Great job! I am too lazy to do something like that. Wish they had less noise. Switching from wifes Q3 to this is day and night ![]() But would prefer x100 my twin ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Fitted a new clutch. Old one 18 months old and rated at 370nm was not holding. New one is 600nm 450ftlb and feels nice.

Saturday I did spark plugs. I’ve been reading about this install for the last 11 years. I paid a shop to do it at 90k but decided to man up and do it myself this time now that I’m at 180k. Overall it wasn’t that bad. Just a couple snags using the wrong extension making it near impossible to disconnect the extension from the 14mm long socket.

It had its annual roadworthyness check and service. And, I added another mod, this I think is the best mod ever.. I mean EVER!!
Since installing, all of the noises, voices and other crap associated with worrying about the engine oil, gone.. Banished forever... Installed a Greddy magnetic sump plug!!! The car is drving so much better... |

Left home the last week of June to go crash my nieces wedding party at the other end of the continent.. 11K Km later and an oil change im quite lost at the end of the road and planning my return home starting Tuesday.
![]() Funny that the more you drive these things the more attuned we become of imaginary imminent destructive noises and each time they do not resemble the previous one heard.

It's been a long time coming, with mechanical setback after mechanical setback, but, finally finished:
A complete swap-and-replace of the stock suspension components, absent the rear upper control arm, with SPLParts adjustable units, RaceComp Engineering sway bars, and Fortune Auto 520CR coilovers. 17X9" ET35 Apex EC-7R Forged wheels wrapped in 245-width Falken Azenis RT615K+ tires at all four corners. The performance pack Brembos, with Hawk DTC60 front and DTC30 rears clamping DBA slotted rotors. And of course, a corner-balance height adjustment and custom alignment setup appropriate for medium-to-hard track driving while still staying kind of street friendly. Parts waiting and still to come: Verus Engineering Ventus "Stage 2" Aero kit for the BRZ. ![]() ![]()

Finally drove it after a couple weeks sitting in my garage slowly doing my clutch. Waiting for people to help pull the blower and drop and lift the transmission. Went to start it and an injector was pissing fuel everywhere and the battery didn’t have enough power.
I bought a new set of injectors and while waiting for them remembered CSG offered a service for porting your old injectors. I remembered my bag of oe injectors and stole the seals off them charged my battery. Success. I had been driving our basset hound carrier, auto Mazda 3 and I’m so glad not to be driving that. Bonus, I put norcalpb’s Perrin catback on, so extra special start up. |

Today I intended to drive it.. It had its annual service a few weeks back, not taken her out since. My wife insists on going out in the Blue car and not the silver one.. So tempted to move on from the silver one..
Anyways, going up to Leicestershire - will back by the time you guys have worked out how to pronounce the county name.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Leicestershire Oh, will be testing the latest gadget - magnetic sump plug.. loving the thought of this little critter working its magic in rather dark/hot and swirly place.. |
