I been stalking since the FT86 concept just the forum pretty late because I thought it was so good I didn't think it would even happen. Right now i'm in college with NO DEBT so far and if I do I can pay relatively short amount of time because it wouldn't be alot in comparison to many. So once I graduate I'll buy. Right now i'm just planning what mods for future endeavors.

Hoping for a better/bigger engine (2.4-2.5L) that uses regular gas and minimizes or eliminates the torque dip.
At ~$.20/L more for Premium 94, a 50L fillup is $10 more. So hoping for a better engine for a FRS/BRZ or a Mazda CX-5 Diesel, which ever comes first. The Legacy 2.5L SOHC makes 170HP @ 5600 RPM and 170 lb-ft @4000 RPM, should not be hard. Last edited by Sleeperz; 08-04-2012 at 04:59 PM. |

Why do you mention the Legacy 2.5L? It has less power, probably uses more fuel, and is taxed higher in most countries that do displacement tax. |

Despite the fact that I registered in 2011 I've been lurking since late 2009/early 2010.
As far as where I stand... Red FR-S next year hopefully. I am currently studying @ UC Berkeley so I don't need a car (selling my tC for that very reason). As long as I get into Stanford Law, I will 'justify' getting myself a FR-S - 1) I will need it to commute back home 1s/2s a month and 2) I will be broke as hell anyways so what's another 25-30k |

I put my money where my mouth is, purchase date is 5/31/2012.
Car is great but slow, but that is the point right? Can dump money into anything and make it fast. I won't be so bold with the aftermarket though, I'll wait a bit, probably 2 years before I make my modification decisions. By then I'm sure we will see the reliability and gains of FI aftermarket and I can pay big but pay once. |

The 2.5L is a common engine size for Subaru. The 2.5L has less Hp 170 vs 200 but more Torque 170 vs 151 . The Legacy 2.5L is a mild SOHC engine, it would not be hard to extract more power and torque from the 2.5L engine.
