Oil Pan Baffle Plate. Blue Moon, Moroso, Greddy, Other?
Leaning toward the Blue Moon baffle plate for my Edelbrocked FA20 which sees weekend cruiser and HPDE/Lapping day duties.
All educated opinions/advice welcome. Thx!

I would be curious to see what others have to say. I just invested in an oil pressure gauge to see if a baffle would even be helpful. I’m probably just being blind but I haven’t seen much about oil pressure drops due to cornering on the fa20. The fa24 is a different story of course ha

Granted, there are some fairly consistent recommended parts for street (camber bolts, better tires) and track (oil cooler (with a minority saying they're not needed)) that I would be comfortable putting on my car (and have in fact done so) solely based on the forums' combined wisdom. AFAIK an oil pan baffle for the FA20 is not a strong recommendation and should be installed only if you actually have a problem. |

I must soon remove the oil pan to resolve its RTV leak and thought this a good time to slip in a baffle plate. Perhaps, by the sounds of it I should just throw that coin into the track tire kitty. More input welcome. Keep it coming.

If you're going to put in the baffle, I'd suggest also installing a Killer B pickup (or equivalent). There appear to be two separate issues that require attention, cornering starvation and high rpm pressure drop.

Verus Engineering has put together a preliminary design on the FA24 baffle that utilizes a divider plate with a "flapper" so to speak that will keep oil at the pickup tube during high G load.
They have not considered the FA20 yet but I'd like to poll interest somehow to convince them otherwise.

I thought Killer-B used to make a baffle plate for FA20 however it is no longer visible in there site. I do have their pick-up installed.

Blue Moon is for prevening slosh into the upper pan. Verus IIRC is trying to target left to right slosh

I didn't notice much difference with a baffle. Now that being said, I haven't logged my data, just what I have seen on my gauge. My car also threw a rocker arm and exploded spectacularly 2 sessions in so I don't have a lot of data

Going to bump this with thread with my experience after installing a GReddy baffle plate and a Killer B pickup tube.
I was consistently seeing pressure fluctuations on straightaways, the same as @ajc209 reported having with the original Moroso baffle. This winter I will be removing the baffle plate. I don't want any oiling issues, especially with the extra power coming from the Jackson Racing Supercharger I am about to order, so I am doubtful I will replace it with a differently designed baffle. Unless someone has one that has proven to be helpful? |

it appears a accusup system might be the best fix based gen 2 testing.
