Loud metal ping from rear

As described. Only has happened once so far, hard left in a corner at 50ish mph. Sounded almost like something metal popped off then pinged against the road. Quick underbody inspection noted no damage, and it seems as all the bolts are in their respective places. I'll do a more detailed check later today. No noted handling differences either. I didn't notice any road debris. Being paranoid or has this happened to anyone else?

Scary. Havent heard anything like that myself. Make sure to check your lug nuts if one was over torqued it could have sheered under load.

No noted re-occurances. Might just be me being paranoid.

If you can't reproduce it, maybe something was there on the road and you stepped on it and it flew away?

I get this sound also. Usually when going in to 5th at about 60 mph... right side back tire area.....sounds scary.

Maybe it was a rock/screw on the road that got kicked up by your tire and hit the underside of your car?

The way you describe it I think I have had a similar experience, but I just dismissed mine as something on the road getting kicked up and hitting the underside of my car.
