The magazines left off after lap3 you will have no brakes and go backwards into the fence when you can't get down to the proper apex speed. Seen at least three of them do this even after the warning about the first one.

I would love a Boss 302, neat car as you get the good handling and power thought price is a bit higher than I would pay.
remember the GT500 is nowhere near as balanced as a Boss it was never intended to be.Im actually thinking about a Boss myself, along with the camaro 1le,corvette grandsport and a GT track recaro's and FRS as my cheaper alternatives.I want a a C6 above all else considering this may be the last 427 we see but i dont know if i wanna pay that much. And that C5 z06 is the best value on the planet bar none.

Of those, I would opt for the C5Z unless you have a C6Z budget. It's nearly 1/2 the price of most and there are still some unmolested examples out there for $20k. I've owned about 30 cars and the C5Z06 is the only one I wish I didn't sell. I still think about another one but the FR-S was too much fun in the last test drive to pass up. Who knows, maybe I'll get another one.

Really? $40,000+ performance oriented cars will blow away 20-25K cars? Shocker!

*You* brought up the Boss 302. For what reason I can't imagine. I was talking about the V-6 Track Pack Mustang which has been compared to the BRZ/FRS in multiple occasions.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure you just posted something, then 3 posts later called bring that up was stupid. Wow.
No i brought up the boss,zl1,and srt8 because someone was trying to say heavy v8 cars cant handle as a good or better than a frs/brz or a smaller car....you went on to talk and down grade the boss's solid axle...which is a mute point because its 1 of the best handling cars in the world with it....

True the C6Z06 is a expensive affair thats what sparks my interest in the Boss its intent as a out of the box racer is the closes car thats affordable to the C6Z06 and a used C5Z06 is the other and even cheaper. If i had a C5 Z06 i would never get rid no matter what came out..although i probably would swap a Ls3 in 1 if had 1...

The FD was beautifully sculpted and incredibly well crafted, and when you compare it to the rx8, the soul of the rotary is seemingly lost and confused. It was a thoroughbred sports car in FD form, in rx-8 form its trying to be a people-carrier with the 2.7 doors and other unescesssary additions.
i think your really discrediting the RX-8's abilities and chassis.....its certainly a very fine drivers car....

When I sold Mazda for a while in 89-90 I was always thinking what a dog the RX-& was compared to the lower prices Nissan 240 SX. Overall, I don't care for Mazda or Nissan. The boxer is probably the better choice with similar benefits for CoG, weight, size etc.
Sadly neither the twins boxer or the renesis are very mod friendly they both should have a been forced induction off the showroom floor, both would have been absolute monsters with big power...

I'm nitpicking, but take it to a track with curbs or bumps (which is like 70% of the tracks in the US), or an auto-x course with rough pavement and see how it does compared to car with IRS.

What do you do on this forum besides talk about how great V8 cars are? Have you paid attention to any of the gains being made in the -first round- of parts and tuning?

Right, a solid rear axle is great for handling...that's why all performance oriented cars use nothing but solid rear axles...right?

Don't get me wrong, I know the Boss 302 handles great (even with its handicap)...but it would be that much better with IRS.
