I know it's just a 3rd concept, but I am definitely liking this more than the 2nd concept (FT-86 II). So far the design team is heading in the right direction imo.
Damn, it looks so good.

You know, I see a lot of complaints I don't like this, I don't like that, yadda yadda yadda.
Quite honestly, I LOVE the car! Would I change the light up scion on the back? Yes. Will I complain if it makes production? No. Front wheel arches? Love 'em. Rear diffuser? Little over the top, but I won't complain if that makes production either, quite honestly. I understand this is still in concept form, but I don't doubt it will still look very similar in production form, even in a more toned down production form this car will look insanely exotic for it's price. I've heard its looks compared to the Alfa 8-C, Maseratis, even Astons... from a car that is supposed to cost around $25k! People not in the know would be shocked at how good this looks for its price point. I don't understand all the complaints, really they seem like nit-picking to me. |

Yeah, better angle Ichi. I wonder if they are going to be function or just cosmetic like the Tacoma Sport hood scoop is actually closed.

Unless you're only reading my posts. In either case, this concept seems to be the most accepted one to date.

Hello all,
First post here as this car dragged me out, and I'm excited for it. I'm looking for a fun-cool looking everyday car (my current is going full track conversion), and this fits the bill. I love Toyota products, and owned them in the past myself, and was hoping Toyota would give me reason to be interested in and they have. Anyways: - Brakes will never-ever make it to production. There no argument to that at all. - The LED headlights won't make it as they sit. Some LEDs make make it into the final form, but ultimately I expect a projector headlamp in there, with an option for HID. - Rear LSD is an absolute MUST for this car, and I don't think even Toyota doubts that. Years past, perhaps it would have happened on a car this price, but considering it's also a safety device now, along with very cheap and reliable, one will make it. If it doesn't I'd be shocked. Worst case I'm hoping would be it being an option. - Front fender will be redesigned. Even though it's RWD, rocks will still come off the tires and chip the hell out of the rear. As an Evo owner, I know this all too well. - I'm going to venture a guess here, 18" wheels, single piston 12"-ranged brakes. Maybe an option for front 4-pistons/brembos. This car still needs to be affordable, but it has to have key parts here. LSD is critical for what they're promoting it as, and for $25k, and them wanting to be competitive. But I can see them racking up the price when it's "optioned" out. Just give me the LSD, the 6-spd has to be beefy (no syncro issues), make the motor "mod-friendly", and let me open it up to hear that beautiful boxer sound! Only thing I don't like is that "Scion" badging. Front will come off, hopefully they change the rear if not perhaps go "JDM" and swap it, or someone will make maybe a CF or Ti cover. Hope the steering wheel can just get a decal over it. This is easily, hands down, the nicest looking car out there in that price-range, and above some. Hats off Toyota. Finally, you got me back (pending final price and my needs like the LSD) Toyota. |
