They're called Vans OTW Prelow Reverse blue/white, but yeah looks like they're sold out everywhere!

I have these
[ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DOFYFZE?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailp age_o06_s00"]Amazon.com: PUMA Men's Drift Cat 5 Alternate Closure Motorsport Shoe,White/Black,12 M US: Shoes[/ame]

and these
[ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LV85K9Q?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailp age_o05_s00"]Amazon.com: PUMA Men's Drift Cat 6 Tech Motorsport Shoe, Black/White, 12 M US: Shoes[/ame]

It's super easy to get the velcro ones nice and snug for driving.
Both shoes suck if you're walking on rocks/gravel for any period of time. You can feel every point of every rock. Walking around in town or at work isn't a problem.

Only those original Puma Speedcats and the Futurecats that came right afterwards are good. But I find Pumas usually too narrow on the toebox.

I would dare to say that none of the Pumas that came out after these two models are any good since they increased the sole thickness for lifestyle walking comfort.

The best driving shoes I have right now are the Geox Xense Moc. Super thin and flexible soles for superb pedal feel, I get the heel and toe perfect just about everytime with them (the bottom is the exact same design as their Red Bull Formula 1 pro driving boots). In winter I wear the Geox Winter Monet, almost as good.

For reference, I also have Porsche Design Drive Pilot and Tokyo models, they were good until I got the Geox.

I had New Balance ML71 and ML72 JDM Minimus sneakers and I didn't like them (heel a little too thick, and the sides to the Vibram bottom are molded to the shape of your foot, so not as consistent to get the gas pedal when heel and toe).

Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 is pretty good for driving actually. The best Mexico 66 model is the Nippon Made ones but quite expensive (I got them from sellers on Rakuten). Normal Mexico 66 is just fine for driving but the bottom wears out too fast imo.

I am on my second super ragged pair of speed cats and also have a pair of drift cats. I agree that the drift cats have become more narrow, and more cushy than speed cats.

I'll be buying my third pair of speed cats pretty soon. I love them for 3 pedal dancing.

Reviving.

Just got a pair of these. Puma Speedcat OG Sparco

Initial impressions after about 30 minutes is that they are quite snug width wise. Length wise is good. Because they're a little thinner than everyday shoes, rev matching can be a little trickier than usual. To mitigate this I just ordered a pedal from Cusco.

Pedal feel and feedback, on the other hand, is amazing. I usually drive with Converse shoes but even then I don't get all the feedback I think I need.

I wouldn't really recommend these for walking, they're very flat and have little support between the rubber and the insert. Another thing is to order about half a size or one full size up from your normal measurements if you are getting a pair.

Same problem and same solution here as well. I also find the heel sole extension to not work well with my all season floor mats - it's too grippy on them. On track where I take the mats out it works fine, but a little annoying on the street.

I also use the Speedcats with my sim racing rig and they are great for the too.

I have Puma's and have the same issue, really narrow, and they don't wear in. I actually find them easier to heel toe in I think it is easier to feel where my foot is on the brake pedal and position it better.

This!
Im actually going to give it a try on GT7. But I fear it may not be too great since the pedals on the G29 pedals are spring and not load cell.

Didn't run into much issue with the mats, I have husky lines and they have little bumps that stop me shoes from slipping down the pedals. May see how they hold up on a 6 hour drive coming up soon.

You are right, I may have to give them another chance and will update my review.

Im counting down the hours to get out of work and go drive a bit more.

I just use the shoes I wear every day anyways. Merrell Vapor gloves. Thin, minimal, no support.
