Yeah, I don't get it either. Having a sound tube on these intakes would make them even louder, which is what I want. That's why I pre-ordered the AIRAID intake, it's the only one that has the sound tube connection.

The photos of the Takeda show the sound tube has not been eliminated on their intake. As of yesterday Greddy hasn't decided whether to keep it or not. They are still testing.

If you are worried about the sound being in the cabin, why not just get a louder exhaust? You would be getting additional performance, plus it would clean up the engine bay.

The revised Takeda will not have the sound tube connected. However, if you wish to keep it, you will be able to drill out the hole and install the sound tube.

Its been said a million times. The sound tube is ugly. Removing it cleans up the engine bay. And any aftermarket intake is going to have superior sound than what the sound tube is able to produce. You are going to hear the intake more under the hood with an aftermarket intake than what that little sound tube is going to give you.
