We had a little discussion about the GR86 Cup car in iRacing in our latest podcast with Gresham Wagner, who knows a thing or two about these cars (2022 SRO TCA drivers champion in a BRZ).

Cliffs? I don't have time to watch an hour long video.

I still intensely dislike the ABS on these cars in iRacing. I wish they'd let me lock up the fronts and understeer off the track vs cutting in and sending the rear end around.

I think for that link I did it so that it would take you right to the GR86 cup car conversation. It's also available on podcast apps if you don't want to see my big dumb face.

Cliffs are that he thinks it's too slow in iRacing and should be faster. I think this is prior to the update though.

Roar before the 24 this weekend at Daytona!! First long race for the car (2.4hrs, solo). I'll be in 2 of the sessions hopefully, driving with the livery below. Multi-class with Touring Cars & GT4, so if you're in those splits, gotta keep a close eye on the mirror and ear on the spotter. I've already had a few GT4 drivers try to pull off some rather "inadvisable" passes into the bus-stop in the practice sessions...and they lap the GR every 9-10 laps.

The update made the car much better for my driving style. Cold tires are still sketch (as they should be), but it is just such a joy to chuck into the corners, even with a really stiff setup (and especially on low fuel). That being said I've never driven a twin on a track in real life, so I can't speak to accuracy there, but it sure is a blast in the game

Also, quick aside, if anyone is looking for teammates for the 24hr races this year, in the BMW M4 GT3 variant, I'd be interested in having a chat with you, as long as you're ok racing with people who chase consistent/safe laptimes over outright speed & wheel banging

Good luck this weekend! I had prior plans so I can't make the Roar, but I'm on a Daytona 24 team in the Merc, so maybe I'll see you out there!
