Well I did not blow my engine but I Hooned some on the way to work yesterday. Clutch felt a little weird on the way home. Today headed to work my clutch broke loose in 6th gear on the highway. Looks like I smoked my ACT clutch in 30k miles. Was wondering so I counted my shifts on the way home today. 196 shifts in 19 miles. Got to love Dallas traffic.

i couldn't count that high in traffic.

but my typical weekend going's on with the car, i'm probably close to 100-200 shifts as well. of course half those are rev-matching and engine braking to slow down to stop lights because it's fun.

Oh hell no! Not for this car. This is the first clutch I have ever taken out, put well over 100k on vehicles and never needed a clutch. But that was in a small town and more normal driving.

I think mav1178 still has some ORC clutches for sale.

I have been stacking parts to go through my car before next season. Ordered material for a new splitter, rods and mount from PA, multiple sets of springs for my T2's, clutch, new seat mounts, fresh friction rings. Eyeing tires and a fire system now.

Took the TRD quickshifter kit off last night. I stupidly put it on a couple years ago in combination with the STI short shifter kit. I grew tired of the overly notchy feel and difficulty getting into gear sometimes. I always forget how good the stock shifter is. I do notice some feedback, so I think it's about that time to flush my trans and diff. Especially since I'm pushing 85k miles.

What came in the "TRD quickshifter kit" and what was in the "STi short shifter kit"? Think I may be missing some bits as I felt no change between the stock BRZ shifter and the so called "Short Shifter".

The STI kit was a whole new shifter assembly but it was like a 4mm difference. The TRD was some adapter that shifted the linkage and shortened the throws. As you can see from the link below:
