Threads like this make me happy I waited.
I'm sure the Turbo version is coming (maybe not the FRS but the BRZ)
so by the time I get the car all the little annoying problems will be gone.
Patience pays off.

Only thing that perterbs me is the thin paint... I already have some scratches on the sides...

then again I did track the car.

Oh, and I would buy it again. No regrets.

As a long-time (almost 10 years) owner and lover of the original AE86, this car is everything I could have possibly asked for.

Hell, I've got one in my driver's side door that's been getting progressively worse, to the point where it sounds like my speaker's going to fall out any minute now. (Was planning on getting it looked at next oil change).

And while I won't argue with you over Audis, I will ask what pharmaceuticals you have been partaking of to state this car's build quality exceeds BMW's? While they don't have anything in their (American) lineup that blows wind up my skirt, I won't knock their build quality (sans new MINI's, apparently). Maybe not as good as a Porsche or old school Honda, but worlds more solid than the FR-S (or just about any other Toyota or Subaru).
Yeah, BMWs are real solid.. the valve bodies only fail on every newer one ever. I think BMW and Volkswagen are tied for cars with the most drama.

I really do not understand the complaints about the a/c, wtf? It seems to work like every other system I've ever used. As for the power....well you should have known going into it that it is not going to have that turbo torque, then again I agree with what others have said. If you think it's slow it is because you want to race other cars in a straight line, power is impressive. If you don't like the car get rid of it asap because you will be able to get basically, if not all, of your money back.

I can definitely see why some people will wait.. but it's like any other technology today.. there is ALWAYS something better right around the corner. I can't imagine too many people regretted "not waiting" for the NEXT iPhone version to come out, no matter how many bugs the first version had.

My last car, an 09 mazdaspeed 3, had the AC actuator replaced 4 times and lasted on average of about 600 miles before failure. The two priors cars were both Lotus which had an AC akin to an asthmatic mouse blowing through a straw...so the AC in the car seems fantastic to me.

hahah I've heart that comparison before. Yeah my parent's have a cr-v and that has a great a/c system - I mean it is an suv. And guess what...the FR-S has the exact same feel and everything to that of the cr-v, so again I have no idea where this complaint is coming from. People need to take a step back with this car, it's not a damn mercedes sl55, it's a toyota that damn a damn near perfect job at everything.

I haven't had a problem with the AC either. I just put it in max AC mode, works fine.
