I don't mean to sound like a punk or anything but I sort of had a hunch that these little things would happen since it's a 1st yr production. The thin paint is what concerns me the most and I really hope they address n fix it.

No regrets here either. It's exactly what I expected, even better, honestly.
Bear in mind that I am used to and appreciate spartan functional interiors, and things like road noise don't bother me as I blast electro pop at ridiculous decibel levels.

My car has a few of the common problems, but in all honesty, I don't care. It's a "feel good" car, and I feel good behind the wheel. The only problem that really bugs me is the bucket of crickets under the hood, but they are easy enough to shut up for the time being. I'd still buy it in a heartbeat. I also have a supercharged Mustang, and I don't think I've put 10 miles on that car since I brought this one home a month ago.

No regrets at all... the first vehicle I ever been in love with and at the end of the work day, whether it's been a 'good' or the rare 'bad' day, the drive home always brings a smile and is always the long, circuitous route. The very minor insignificant things don't register as any kind of disappointment since they are just little quirks like all cars have and don't affect how I feel about the car at all.
Would buy again in a heartbeat...

I stick to my original response, and your further attempts to explain only validate my original concensus. You clearly have not spent time behind the wheel of many new cars. Especially those in the 25k price range. The fit and finish is astounding for a 25k car and easily trumps many costing twice as much. As I said, if you have an interior rattle that can not be easily identified, that is for sure an anomolie and you should take it to the dealer for investigation, documentation, repair, and can indicate a problem with a specific batch at the factory. Just a tid-bit for comparison, the audi rs4 press car sent had horrendous fit and finish compared to this. Rattled like a baby with a set of keys.

And while I won't argue with you over Audis, I will ask what pharmaceuticals you have been partaking of to state this car's build quality exceeds BMW's? While they don't have anything in their (American) lineup that blows wind up my skirt, I won't knock their build quality (sans new MINI's, apparently). Maybe not as good as a Porsche or old school Honda, but worlds more solid than the FR-S (or just about any other Toyota or Subaru). |

I haven't received mine yet, but from all the minor complains everybody has expressed about this car, I'm not worried.
Having owned a Subaru for 5 years, I'm used to the thin paint, interior creeks, and minor imperfections like those. However, do remember, it's a 25k car. |

For 25k bucks, it was a financial risk that was easily worth it for the fanatic within me. The FR-S is an experience, it's a unique journey... And that's what makes it worth it for me.

No regrets at all, actually I thought it didn't look *that* good in pictures, but after owning it I can say that it looks absolutely amazing the more I see it. I'm actually quite blown away with the car. The only "regret" I have about it is getting the first year/gen of the car. I know when the base model is making 220hp and has other options for the same price I will feel sad, but you know, that is how it always is so at the end of the day I could not be more excited with the car.
