Finally got around to doing the update yesterday. Saw lots of people complaining about screens and other things being messed up after the update so I ran a few laps to check.

Did about 15-20 laps on the fixed setup with the GR at Lime Rock. Not sure why the fixed setup has a full 20 gallons on board, but oh well.

Car is definitely squirrelly on the brakes from high speed. Back end wants to keep coming around. This could also be my poor technique, I don't always remember to "squeeze the brakes quickly" but tend to jump on them at high speed.

Ran it in the series at Laguna today. Fun car. Feels a lot like a well set up G1 but with a bit more power. Was running 1:40

I only have a first gen car, and never driven a track prepped 86 at all, but I'd say they've just about nailed the feel of this car! I've been a spec racer driver for a while, as it just seems like more of a race car than the miata, but this 86 is a lot of fun.

RCE Larry has been having a blast with the cup car...I might try to jump on this Saturday with his rig.

Production Car Sim Lab series now has this instead of the Solstice, and this week is at the Nurburgring Nordschleife, if you really want to scare yourselves. Unfortunately my main wheel broke so I'm using a Formula style wheel, which I don't really enjoy for cars like this.

Driving style can help I would assume, though countering it with style might make you lose time because you are not braking as hard. Can you change the brake bias a little more to the front while on the straight, then shift it back afterwards?

No, you can't change anything with the fixed setup.

Brake bias is always fixed 50-50 in this car, even on an open setup.

The good folks who make designs on Trading Paints have been busy.

A favourite of mine.

Personally, I'm running a red/black in-game livery, like what Kevin Vo has on his FRS. Nice and simple.

Some WRB ones on there too if you feel so inclined

I'm off from basically noon tomorrow until Jan 3rd. Hoping to really get in some nice seat time in these and figure out my poor braking technique with them.

Ha, glad you enjoy that first one.

The new update today made the car MUCH more drivable, it doesn't want to kill you anymore since slides are recoverable now and it doesn't roll over either.

Excellent to know! When I first tried it at Lime Rock going into I had to keep up backing up my braking point so the end didn't want to swap ends like lifting off the throttle in a 70s 911.

It's still quite loose on entry, IMO. Way better though, haha

Small world eh!

I'll have to try the car again now that I've got a round wheel that works. Driving it with a formula style wheel has not been my favourite thing haha.
