Differential sadness
Im trying to figure out the best route to handle this. Unfortunately after a long few months of some trans work I finally got my brz on the road for some tuning. Right off the bat i got what appears to be a terribly loud bearing noise. Tore the diff apart and the side bearings are fine but haven’t gotten to the pinion bearing yet. I wanna take this opportunity to get a higher gear ratio since im supercharged also the cd009 transmission gears feel short. Who sells good quality ring & pinions with a 3.58 or 3.73 ratio? Ive contacted weir weeks ago with no response and been hunting for a m85 diff from a is300 with no success.

Sadly, I have no suggestions for you, but you *might* want to re-post this in the "Engine, Exhaust, Transmission" section rather than the classifieds if you're looking for an answer.

Its two options purchase a m85(rare manual 3.7) or m98(auto 3.9) is300 used diff but it’s risky because you don’t know what the diff went through. Alternatively hit up weir performance(call him) or nitro gear for gears to rebuild your current diff. Thats the expensive route but you’ll have fresh new bearings, fluid, gears, etc also parts and labor are under warranty. Ebay shipping prices are terrible due to the weight of a used diff so its better to just rebuild instead Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have bought two diffs on ebay and both were free shipping. Price was comparable to local pickup on offerup or FB Marketplace.

The M85s I've found on eBay I've been able to get free shipping for. I shipped a diff before and it was only like $120
