Instead of the thread being dead and buried since that is what would have happened without one single response to said question.

![]() Lol I don't care. I don't need convincing, the point of the thread was to talk about having fun with track cars and maybe balance out some of the "zomg another blown up car" threads. 2nd gen stories would be sweet, first gen stories are cool too, k-swap kids can sit in the corner and make fun of us all. Here's our current lineup of fun cars right now. STi is mine, BRZ is my lady's, soon to be an 86 in there too. |

There are three of us here locally that have done probably 15-20 autox events in our 2nd gens without a hiccup.

2019 BRZ. 41K miles. 12 HPDE events. 27 track days. PCA instructor, so I drive in multiple groups. typical track day: 125 track miles. Oil cooler, frequent oil changes, appropriate maintenance.
No problems with the engine. Most recent oil analysis: We came up with 6,580 miles on the oil based on elapsed engine time, and these results look great. Metals are nearly identical to what turned up in the first two reports, but iron's just a tad higher. That's fine. This engine sees hard use, and 10 ppm is still perfectly average. That would be impressive after a longer-than-average interval, even without the added track days! The viscosity measured in range this time (it wasn't a big concern in the past), and no contamination was found. The TBN's good, so if you want to go longer next time, do it! Try 9,000 miles. |
