For anyone having the issue of no vtec after the update, press f4 and look for the oil pressure sensor. Turn that sensor off and you'll be good. This is assuming you don't have the oil pressure sensor.

Anyone have a link to the three hole exhaust gasket that goes between the header and the little mid pipe? Also, the bolt sizes?
I lost mine along with the three bolts and nuts on track over the weekend. Starting to figure the car out, spent an entire day going the wrong direction on the dampers and wasted the golden first session the second day by realizing the exhaust had sprung a massive leak on the out lap. Car gets pulled on the straights by second gen cars which is kind of to be expected given there is a ~15whp deficit.

It's a standard 3 bolt 3" exhaust gasket. Vibrant 1463 should work but any off the shelf variety should do the trick.

What CD009 are you using? The 350Z version with a clutch fork or the 370Z version with the internal concentric slave cylinder? What adapter plate and transmission mounts are you going to use?

@ML
Yeah I’ve seen that video and planned to do the same. I was wondering if the stock shifter with the Kpower kit would work. Also, why are you going with the hydro slave cylinder? You are doing the Collins clutches? What made you stick with their clutch kit and not something else, just curious? Tell me more. Also, do you think modifying the existing driveshaft plus shipping both ways will be cheaper than selling the driveshaft and buying a new one?

Anyone swapped to the 74mm Bosch TB and have some dyno data?
I was just talking to a K swapped Miata guy and I realized they run 74mm by default, then I looked at some dyno comparisons Honda dudes have done and it seemed fairly significant. Not sure if crack pipe or not

I've got a 74mm waiting to install but was waiting to do it with the built block. Didn't think it would make a noticeable difference in power but if it does I may move it up the to do list.

I saw some people talking about 5-10whp gains, which would be one factor in explaining the lower numbers our cars make versus the swapped Miatas, if the numbers I saw were to be believed. I am currently in a position where I am ballasting to make my power to weight number for classing so I won't be doing anything with it right now, just thought it was interesting.

Would there be a problem to use the K24Z3 for this swap? cursory look at the engine mount locations look similar to K24A2 but Kpower website doesn't mention this engine block. Reason is just for a cheap turbo build since I figured combined exhaust manifold wasn't going to be a factor and I can just use the factory head.
For their miata kswap they say that the K24Z3 can just drop into the K24A2 swap but not sure if K86 would be similar. |
