Bead blasted, I would like to see that. I like bead blasted stainless steel, i'm sure this would look just as good. The etching needs to stand our more, definitely. Maybe make the "driver/navigator" the personalized portion of the door sills. Allow people to request what they want (if that's not too much trouble). Out of curiosity, what type of laser are you using? |

I prefer anodizing actually, but you're correct about it being pricey, and every additional color option multiplies that high cost. Powder coating will provide a solution for people who prefer a textured finish, and if enough people want I might try to do a small batch of gunmetal grey anodized sets. The anodized sets would probably be priced a bit higher though. I appreciate the feedback! |

Powder coating is a great idea. My shift knob is powder coated and I think it looks great. |

be careful with the powder coating as it softens all the edges and adds thickness in a less controlled manner, so if clearance to door is minimal you may need to decrease the thickness of the part.
anodize isn't too bad really, where are you located I can introduce you to some shops that do great work and if you know how to order the anodize it gets cheaper (i run an aerospace machine shop in carson ca that has been in business for 60 years...we know everyone) |

I'm located in Anaheim. I use Ideal Anodizing at the moment, but I'm always willing to give new vendors a try. They've provided excellent service in the past, but their color choice is a bit limited. |

I would definitely buy it if it had the 86 piston logo. Also, and personalized engraving would be a plus!

![]() Plus it dissipates heat quicker then an anodized shift knob. Not sure that would benefit the door sills, but having more then 1 color will help you sell a lot more. |

Updated the first post with some new photos of the black door sills. Much better contrast than the original silver sills IMO!

The black powdercoated ones look sick, I want a set. I didn't see this in the first post, but how do they attach? I don't know how the OEM ones are attached, 3M tape?

They'll more than likely attach via 3M automotive adhesive, that way they're easy to remove. I like giving people the option of going back to stock should they ever want to sell their car.

I didn't care for the chrome, but I really like those black ones. Definitely going to watch these particularly if we can customize them.
