Top of the line serious rig though. MicroCenter has an online configurator where you can build your own. Haven't tried to see what a lesser config would cost. There's also some component pricing if you zoom in on part behind the monitors.

(EDIT: Apparently the forum is doing that thing where it rotates pictures.)
I thought that the picture was in the proper orientation and it was just showing how it banks and rolls for a flight sim.

Absolutely. There could've been a contractual clause that made EVGA to buy loads of GPU kits from NVIDIA at 2020 prices, regardless of demand, from which EVGA could've been benefiting from at one point. But with mining being basically obsolete, and demand down, EVGA is now sitting with loads of inventory and selling at a loss.

Earning reports are significantly low, and shareholders selling their stakes, I wouldn't be surprised if other companies follow suit (ZOTAC, GIGABYTE, ASUS,etc).

Not defending NVIDIA either, they didn't release pricing until the very last moment and right now they seem to be a political shitstorm for not disclosing their earnings from bulk buyers with mining farms.

i'm just really surprised they were so quick to outright drop the entire division instead of migrating to a different chipset.

i've never been opposed to their motherboards, but they've always had very few offerings there that aren't extremely competitive price-wise, and then i've never even considered them for power supplies... i guess i knew they made power supplies, just never noticed, which is good and bad.

Well, Intel GPUs are basically non-existent or they know their product is basically crap and keep dancing around it until they get their driver software sorted out. The latest news on their GPU, from their CEO, were "We'll be releasing our GPUs, soon, somewhere in the world" doesn't particularly give customers a warm and fuzzy.

AMD would be their other customer, but EVGAs CEO really just wants out and made his opinion very clear about it.

There are so many players in the PC components game, that I'm sure there are other companies that I haven't heard about. PSUs are pretty much the same across the board, and as long as you have the right Watt rating, doesn't really matter the brand. I basically came across a brand and stuck to it (Corsair).

Holy, those new specs for Ada-Lovelace are impressive. Watching the NVIDIA keynot for their new GPUs.

76 billion transistors, 18,000 CUDA cores, over 70% more than the previous Ampere generation. It includes a 90 teraflops streaming processor, built on TSMC 4N. Also includes Shader Execution Reordering (SER), which apparently can improve 2-3 fold boost in ray tracing performance.

That’s impressive. I’m curious to see how AMD does

Price range
4090-$1599 October 12*
NVIDIA claims the 4090 can be as 2 or 4 times faster than even a 3090ti.*
4080-$899 TBD

4070-TBD
4060-TBD

Looks like power consumption will hit 450W, but with a much higher performance and efficiency. Also, both 4080 and 4090 claim big numbers and big gains, but, according to Tomshardware "
RTX 4080 is up to three times faster than RTX 3080 in RacerX, though obviously that's using DLSS and extreme RT effects." So the question is, without DLSS, how do these cards measure up. Not all games support DLSS.

We all know those prices won’t be accurate and it will be the same shit of NVIDIA not caring since they will make insane profits. I anticipate another scalping massacre.

I want to say yes, but it will most likely be the first month or so. The biggest price driver last time was Ethereum mining and what not. With that pretty much dead, scalpers will only be able to hold on to stock only for so long. Plus I don't think the demand will be as higher now that getting a 3000 series will be a killer deal.

Most scalpers are still trying to sell GPUs at a loss on Ebay, so I don't foresee them venturing into yet another GPU game. But for the first month or so, yeah, it will be hard to get one. I'd have absolutely no rush for a 4080. I'm also waiting for AMD, most important for benchmarks from TsH.

They also had a "gamers" waitinglist, everbody on that list could buy a GPU around MSRP (at same time that a GPU would cost 3 times MSRP), you just needed to be very patient.
Which is also a weird thing to do if you only would care for miners and profit.

AMD launches their cards on the 3rd November. One site has suggested AMD's current series (6xxx) will drop further in price. I can purchase one now for an acceptable price or wait for them to maybe drop in price and become unavailable. One site I've been watching has recently (2 days?) completely sold out of 6800XTs and won't be getting any more.

There seems to be quite a mark up over US prices in Aus for the new Nvidia 4000 cards.
RTX 4090 (24GB) – AU$2,959
RTX 4080 (16GB) – AU$2,219
RTX 4080 (12GB) – AU$1,659
