Just the maintenance schedule. Car didn't really feel any different, but my mpg was down. However, that was also harder to tell since I'm mainly doing city street driving now. I'm still on the same tank as before replacing the spark plugs, and the current average mpg has gone up a little, so I'm pretty sure the new spark plugs are helping.

I'll say this job needs more patience than anything else. As long as you know how to use the hand tools required, I think you should be able to DIY.

Doesn't really seem worth the hassle to me. You'd be better off selling and putting the extra funds into a set of quality coils. Or just buy some B6 dampers to pair with your yellows.

I ended up removing the left strut tower brace cuz I couldn't get the fuel rail cover/thing off with it on.

I also removed the intake since I dropped the extension into the abyss. That didn't bother me too much since I was going to reinstall my Perrin intake tube anyway.

Putting together a custom 2022 OEM+ GR86/brz Oil Cooler/Regulator kit. I got a sweet discount at a local Subaru dealer at San Bernando, CA so I put spent a lil extra on some nice hoses and adapters. The cooler lines measures 3/8" ID and the manifold measures 5/16" ID.

Oil Cooler Complete: 21311AA220
Oil Cooler Connector stem: 21317AA070
HPS Hose 3/8" ID (3ft)
HPS Hose (90deg) 5/16" ID
Reducer Adaptor 3/8"->5/16"
Subaru Coolant
x4 Worm Clamps ~16mm
x4 Spring Clamps ~16mm



Going to reschedule this install hopefully next week when it's not so hot outside.

Switched over to some Solo Werks S1 Coilovers from the BC’s with 40k swift springs, and the ride quality feels amazing! Also, what a wonder what a fresh wash and wax can do!

Those bended hose should make the install a breeze. I struggled with mine but was worth the effort. Oil temps doest spike

Nice! Any difference between the Forester and GR86 oil cooler units though?

Also, finally got around to servicing my coilovers - fresh oil, new dust boots and bump stops. And finally no more clunks, apparently from the worn spherical collar.

Good question! Yes, there's a slight difference in the location of the coolant lines which makes hose management easier to work with the GR86 design. The Forrester measures somewhere around 3/8" ID and 1/2" ID. So you'll need a compatible hose and clamp that won't leak considering it will connect to the manifold lines at smaller ID.

Nice work on the rebuild. Fresh parts are always nice.

Installed a TRD sandwich plate to put a defi oil pressure gauge in.

Gave her a wash and got rid of the rust dust that got on the paint from parking right up against a chain link fence (ended up being super windy and rainy that day).

Everything I've read here indicates those units are not sufficient for track. Am I wrong about that?

Purchased Billetworz 500g shift knob from @vfrqqq. My butt dyno says it added 2.57 hp. Feels really nice too.
