Or if not, you could, like many people said: Call Scion!

Pure Pricing does not mean what you think it means. It does not mean that the dealers have to sell at MSRP. All it means is that if they advertise it at a certain price, they have to sell it at that price to anyone who walks in the door.

Check it out for yourselves:

Pure Price - a Definition

Pure Price means that the dealer price you see posted - in an ad, on the dealer's website, or on a menu display board in the dealership - is the price you will pay. This includes vehicles, accessories, and even finance and insurance products.

I'm not saying that what they're doing is right, but they aren't violating company policy here.

I appreciate the research. It is very sad that some greedy dealerships would see the need to mark something up that much, even if it is popular.

Have you checked out what "pure pricing" actually means?

It means the same price for everybody who comes to the dealership. It doesn't promise low prices, or MSRP.

Kind of a let down, eh?

Don't let it crush your hopes. Go buy the FR-S you want at another dealer for MSRP, then park out in front of that dealer in your free time with a sign that says, "I paid MSRP for my FR-S and not a dime more!" Only took me about 2 weeks to get mine.

These "adjusted market value" horror stories disappointment.

I applaud you sir

The more things like this go out in the open, the more dealers get pushed down from trying the ridiculous mark ups at the cost of bad publicity. Social media is now a legit weapon.

Long story short, I posted my issue with photos on Facebook, tagged their dealership page to the photos, and left a comment on their wall saying how bad my experience was. I also got them black listed on here...

Next morning, owner of dealership called and apologized saying the comments from FB went to his iPhone. I came in, dealth with owner and head finance guy (who wasn't there night before).... Didn't see the salesman at all. Didn't see him a week later when I went to get my plate either.

Grimlock and FriSson are correct.

Pure Price has nothing to do with MSRP. The acronym MSRP appears nowhere on Scion's website. Pure Price is a pure joke plain and simple. Its for retards who can't haggle, so Scion removes the ability for those that can and would have. It failed for Saturn, which makes no sense why Toyota would try it.

I agree. It's a silly ploy especially for those that know it's a Toyota. Some may see it easier car buying experience, which it should be, but the dealers can really ruin it....

I agree. Every dealer I've talked to in Florida is on crack. I'm talking major crack. Anywhere from $70 all the way up to $280 (!) more per month than they should be on a standard lease! I ended up buying out of state.

Not only in Florida, some dealers out here in So Cal are doing the same shit. One in particular likes putting on 18" TSW Nurburgring for $2500......but guess what? They sell them within days for $30K +.......
