All depends upon allotments. It isn't a "closer get's sooner" sort of thing.

My car was delivered to the dealer on 8/12, picking it up this Saturday.

Ordered on 4/13, but I ordered a base MGM with no port-installed options.

Nice! Why the long wait to pick it up?

From California too. Placed order on 05/23. ETA November. Dealer did call me the other day because they did have BRZ come in and asked if I was interested due to the previous person cancelling. Unfortunately it was not the color I was interested in.

Dealer's two hours away, not enough time to leave work during the week.

I bought several cars from them over the years and they don't add any markups.

Ouch! About a decade ago that's why I ended up with a Mustang GT Track Pack instead of an EVO X. I didn't want to deal with a warranty issue with a dealer that was 120 miles away.

Especially with as complicated as the AWD system was on those things.

Can you not have taken it to any other local dealer for service/warranty work? That is what i plan on doing with my Gen2 car since mine was purchased 120 miles away as well.

That was the whole point of responding to his post about the dealer being 2 hours away.

The closest Mitsubishi dealer at the time was 120 miles away. If there had been a local dealer, I would have purchased the EVO X.

Had my 22' brz unfortunately flooded, placed an order last month for a 23' premium 6MT at my local dealer in the exact specs I wanted.

Landed in port 8/13, patiently waiting for it to get to the dealer.. I think the port is only 30 minutes away from my home/dealership so I'm hoping it's a quick process since I don't have any accessories being installed other than mats

As long as they don't do what Toyota does here. The dealership two blocks away from the plant that makes the Rav4 but all their stock has to travel several hours to a distribution yard and then get shipped back!

Updated Delivery is 'Month of September', but I have a VIN (well the Pxxxxxxx part at least) now...

I called SOA this morning to see if they had any updates on the status of my order (placed on 4/20, received VON E-mail on 4/21, but no VIN E-mail yet). They told me that my car is currently at port and awaiting some of the port-installed accessories. Conservatively, they expect delivery at the dealer before Sept 2nd, which is just a couple of days after the original August ETA. The wait is almost over!

For those in a similar situation who have an August ETA but haven't heard anything from your dealer/salesperson, it might be worth calling SOA: (800) 782-2783

This gives me hope of getting mine before October lol. I'll give them a call.
