I would love a Boss 302, neat car as you get the good handling and power thought price is a bit higher than I would pay.

Someone needs to take a FRS/BRZ to VIR.
http://www.fastestlaps.com/tracks/vi...l_raceway.html But on the list what has an FRS/BRZ been already proven faster? 91. Honda S2000 78. Ford Mustang V6? |

Bone stock fast lap is 2:24.83 is like #2 ??.
If that is true it should be added to the list but probably a shorter track? Quote:

I think it's safe to say the website isn't kept up to date. Mylaps.com if you can find the right events, shows real world laptimes but usually for prep'd cars.

Really? $40,000+ performance oriented cars will blow away 20-25K cars? Shocker! Quote:
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure you just posted something, then 3 posts later called bring that up was stupid. Wow.

Can you go on and on about other cars in it's price range, in stock trim beating it? Just curious since you said you can go on and on...
While I really like both the RX8 and the MX5, I think the BRZ has advantage over both of them. If stock/stock their lap times are similar the mpg of the BRZ romps on the RX8 ( http://www.fuelly.com/car/mazda/rx-8 = 15-17mpg average!!!) and the extra space in the BRZ/FRS is greatly appreciated when using it as a daily driver over the MX5. I view the BRZ/FRS as a very strong car in many different areas. Good trunk/storage space for a coupe. Very good mileage for a DD. Very solid chassis as a basis for a track or auto-x car. You can argue that the Mustang does those things, but the real world MPG for the V-6 is low 20s vs the high 20's of the BRZ. We can argue about track times all day long, but at the end of the day the majority of owners might take this car to an event once a year on average, so as an overall view of the car's capability it's almost a moot point. The real world ability of this car is very hard to beat.

Back on topic, when I drove this car during the Scion mini-autox driving event, I knew it was going to feel underpowered compared to my current car, but I was still expecting more out of it.
Perhaps it had to do with how linear the powerband was...all my previous and current cars had either been turbo'ed or were high revving motors with variable valve timing. |
