Asking how tall you are and thinking you are being uniquely witty because you "made up" a joke are rather different scenarios. If every person asked "how's the air up there?" as if it was the first time it was ever said then it would wear you down to the point that a response is no longer any more fun than the question. The whole thing was simply that what you feel may be a funny and off the wall prank/comment is no longer funny nor off the wall to people that have seen/heard it hundreds of times. My current one is when I tell people we are having hearing tests done and they say "What?"

"Rent-a-person who does nothing' in Tokyo receives endless requests, gratitude TOKYO -- A 37-year-old Tokyo man who says he rents himself out to other people "to do nothing" has been inundated with gratitude from Twitter users, indicating people are happy with his new form of support. "I'm glad I was able to take a walk with someone while keeping a comfortable distance, where we didn't have to talk but could if we wanted to," one user wrote. Another reflected, "I had been slack about visiting the hospital, but I went because he came with me.""

Or... Gigolo. Since this is in Tokyo I guess it would be Jigogo.
(Sorry for the typo. Should have been Jigoro) Last edited by Stephen W.; 07-19-2022 at 01:51 PM. |

TIL smog checks are going away in Idaho. Yay!
On March 22, 2022, Governor Little signed Senate Bill 1254, which repeals the emission testing requirement in Idaho Code Section 39-116B. Per the text of the bill, the action becomes effective July 1, 2023. They determined that 99% of all cars pass first time, so testing cars isn't a smart use of resources. |

It's that way in Georgia as well, although the owner is responsible for getting an inspection if they are selling to someone where the inspection is required to register the car in their county.

![]() Safety inspection also required on all cars when moving into Maryland, except if you bought the car in-state in the first place. So my ~ 1 year old Buick needed to be inspected but not my ~7 year old FRS. |

I think that's how it is in most smog states. Our county here was one of a small number of counties that required testing. Even California has no smog counties.
