Which grease do I use when replacing the clutch
Hey guys, my TOB likes to howl every time I turn my car on so I went ahead and ordered a clutch kit, flywheel, the new tob, clutch fork and pivot. I’m going to tackle this job next week when I’m off.
The kit came with a little grease packet. I was wondering if it’s enough to use for the whole job, or should I get bottle of grease And if so, which type of grease should I get?. Currently my clutch fork squeaks when I press the clutch. Id like for the new setup not to have said squeak. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The squeak might be at the firewall.
With the said, it doesn't take much grease at all, what they provide should be adequate

Any high temp brake grease or a high temp lithium grease should do the trick.

The little packet of grease is SPLINE GREASE to be used applied in a thin even film on the input shaft splines. empty the packet as evenly as possible on the input shaft and slide the clutch disc on it a few times and in a few orientations to evenly distribute, wipe off excess.
For the clutch fork, clean off the contact point where it pushes on the throwout bearing, where it pivots on the fulcrum and where the slave cylinder pushes on it. A dab of extreme pressure moly grease will do. It's basically the same thing as in the little packet, but you need that little packet for the splines, and the little packet is a thicker viscosity so it doesn't fly out into the clutch disc.
