Have you talk to the dealers for a negotiable price yet? If you have the cash up front, you can always low ball them. You just gotta know how to use your mouth and play the game right.

The problem is Pure Price. With Pure Price, the dealers are allowed to set the price at whatever they want, but they have to keep it there for the month. So there is no negotiation on Scions as far as I understand.

As I understand it, you are incorrect. Pure price means that it is the same price across the country, no exceptions. Do you have a source to back you up?

That's what mine was, 34k with Full Five Axis. They marked it up from $26,500 and then about $6000 in Five Axis body kit, lip, tires, and wheels.

I really still want to call Scion. But only after I get my wheels installed so I don't have to go to them to get serviced and they end up sabotaging my car somehow.

all "pure price" really means is that they don't haggle on price, whatever that price may be. how do you think all these dealerships are getting away with this? magic?

and did someone really pay 34k for an fr-s? jesus.

holy mollee.. i cant beleive (unless u really wanted the five axis) anyone would pay 6000 dollars for one -- i saw the invoice on my base AT when i purchased it and 34k is just a rip off - they mark up the addons like by 70% -- thats just nuts.

i wish everyone would just not buy the add-on cars and have them sit there till nxt year...

if i were you, i would just start driving until i found one - go to cars.com and search for your area - its so easy nowadays. fk those guys with the ridiculous prices.

and btw, i would get that markup on paper - email or something get the guys name and everything and once you do BUY your car -- you will get ALOT more attention - tell them - hey i drove to TX to get my car because u local guys sucked - they took my money no problem... thats insane i almost cant beleive it.

Well the car was 26.5k to begin with, with all options. Then they marked it up to like 29,500 and then add the FULL Five Axis, wheels, tires, body kit, spoiler, and you have 35,500 and then subtract 1000 for the recent college graduate discount.

Yes I really really wanted the kit, the stock body kit bothered me a little, and I was going to get a body kit and wheels anyway, thought it would be better to have it financed into the car and have free paint and installation and warranty than the alternative. I still don't appreciate the markup though.

First post - no I'm not a dealer
Went to a dealership in Southern San Diego County after getting the call that an FR-S was in and available. Great. So I head on down, see the vehicle which hasn't event been prepped yet. Red, MT, paint film, wheel locks, cargo mat and ash tray (which I really don't need as I'm a lung doctor). Price is MRSP, but, they want to add window tint and paint/fabric protection for a mere $795. It hasn't been put on yet and I ask them not to since 1) I really don't need 'paint protector' [turtle wax and ScotchGuard] on a car with factory paint film already on it and 2) I don't want to pay $600 for tint that costs $160 to install anywhere else in San Diego. I ask that they buy me out of my Lexus lease. They say no problem.

They magically offer me my residual value on my Lexus and expect me to pay off the rest of the lease (so much for buying me out) which they roll into the price of the FR-S and refuse to remove the tint/paint protection which isn't even on it yet. 2 hours of my life wasted. Certainly not a $2000 mark up but still a PITA.

I may stop back 30 mins before closing, see if it's still there, offer MRSP and no add ons and offer to pay cash and see what they say.

They tried to mark up my BRZ that I preordered. It was a lot of BS and a lot of wasted time. The salesman pretty much lied to me, straight to my face. Also had problem with added extras like pinstripe which wasn't even on yet....

Long story short, I posted my issue with photos on Facebook, tagged their dealership page to the photos, and left a comment on their wall saying how bad my experience was. I also got them black listed on here...

Next morning, owner of dealership called and apologized saying the comments from FB went to his iPhone. I came in, dealth with owner and head finance guy (who wasn't there night before).... Didn't see the salesman at all. Didn't see him a week later when I went to get my plate either.

NICE! Dude, I totally should've done that. Social media can be so good sometimes.

Lol, yea I was totally ready to settle on a different BRZ or even a different car.... The owner and finance guy were totally surprised at what the salesman tried to pull. I made a point to state that I was first on their list AND post blown up pics of their markup on the window sticker...

Too bad Tmobile didn't cave and give me a better offer on a next Galaxy S3 when I tried same thing a week or two before the BRZ...

Buy the car out of state and drive it back over mountains, twisty forest roads, etc. I am thinking of doing this with a 1993 MR2 Turbo for sale 1500 miles from me.

I read your explanation below this reply, and I'm curious why you want to call Scion? And what's this about sabotage?

I'm going to venture a guess and say you feel unsatisfied with the deal you agreed to(the markup), and want to complain to Scion about your decision to buy it anyway? If that is incorrect I apologize.
