Fair warning if you just found out:

1: Wait list is about a year long, I ordered mine in July 2022. It’ll probably get better as they keep ramping up production.

2: it can require a bit of nerding out to get titles to run that aren’t officially supported. Nothing crazy but the fact that it is running native windows games on Linux takes some fiddling with .ini and .reg files for some games. I am by no means a programming genius, and I’ve been able to get my games running by simply googling + steam deck. Someone has likely already done the legwork.

3: Most games downloaded from Steam run really well out of the box, but a lot of them require you to set up your controller layout because the games weren’t designed for it. Valve’s steaminput controller setup makes it easy though. Most games even have community shared layouts you can choose from.

I can wait.
No doubt anything I want to run will be figured out by the time I can get one.
Pretty much all I have is older games on Steam (Fallout, Command and Conquer, Wasteland sort of stuff) so shouldn't be a problem getting or setting up layouts.

Resident Evil 4 is getting a remake. Slated to come out on 2023.

TBH it looks really cool. Wouldn't mind spending another 300+ hours on another AAA game, to have a space Preston telling me another space settlement needs my help.

Yep, a lot of the preliminary reviews, based on the 15 minutes gameplay Bethesda showcased, consist of the game having similarities with Mass Effect, No Man's Sky, Destiny, and Star Citizen

I guess there is only so many ways to draw "futuristic buildings" which apparently all have to be unnecessarily tall because there is only a couple of rooms per floor.

If it cant be realistically engineered to work, its a futuristic building.
