I was looking into those while shopping around. I ended up going with Corsair ones since the iCue software is fairly simple to use.

Same headset, but the PS5 specific version. I don’t use it a lot (didn’t pay for my speaker setup for nothing lol) but it sounds good and it’s nice and comfortable when I do use it. It’s nice to be able to swap it between devices since it’s USB-C. |

I use either Sennheiser or Audio-Technica open back headphones on a Schiit DAC/amp stack with a boom mic. I've tried the gaming ones and they've all broken. Plus the audio quality is so good I can listen to music for hours.

I only use a headset when I'm playing online (which is maybe 4 hours a month) and I never listen to music with a headset so, probably not as particular as you would be.

When VOIP became the big thing in gaming I found my cheapo gaming headset with mic didn't cut it. The wife came to the rescue with a Sennheiser PC 363D 7.1 surround sound gaming headset. WOW! for a time I was in heaven. However as games improved I found I was losing to people who would sneak up on me. Overall sound was still great but the directionality of sounds and especially soft tones were muddled. A friend suggested Logitech and I went for the, then top of the line, G933 model. It allows me to choose either Dolby or DTS. I discovered, to my enemies dismay, that DTS gives incredible accuracy to sound direction in games like America's Army:Proving Grounds. YMMV |

Sony plans to release about 60% of their exclusives on PC and Mobile by 2025. Can we make GT7 by Jan 2023, please?

Any PC Gamers Around?
Got my steam deck on Friday!
So good. A generation-agnostic handheld feels genuinely mind blowing. I can play 90s games, new games, PC games, game boy games, PS2 games. I haven’t found a game in my library that won’t run. And if I find one (or want to save the battery) I can stream them from my local gaming pc. ![]() Funny thing about running windows games on Linux through proton/wine. Some games actually run significantly better. NFS Carbon is a good example. No matter how powerful your windows PC is, that game will stutter even at a locked high frame rate. It’s a weird bug in that game that I’ve seen on PS3/X360 too. On the Deck it isn’t perfect, but it’s much better to the point that it doesn’t annoy me anymore. |

Any PC Gamers Around?
Anything pre- ~2015 and remasters off that era can pretty much run at full settings native resolution. Really demanding stuff like Cyberpunk you have to run with FSR to get to a decent frame rate, so those I stream from my PC using moonlight. It CAN run demanding new games but running the thing at full tilt (25W) drains the battery in 1.5 hours. For an old game, let’s say NFSMW you can turn the TDP down to ~5 watts and enjoy ~5 hours of 60FPS hooning. Quote:
Fair warning if you just found out: 1: Wait list is about a year long, I ordered mine in July 2022. It’ll probably get better as they keep ramping up production. 2: it can require a bit of nerding out to get titles to run that aren’t officially supported. Nothing crazy but the fact that it is running native windows games on Linux takes some fiddling with .ini and .reg files for some games. I am by no means a programming genius, and I’ve been able to get my games running by simply googling + steam deck. Someone has likely already done the legwork. 3: Most games downloaded from Steam run really well out of the box, but a lot of them require you to set up your controller layout because the games weren’t designed for it. Valve’s steaminput controller setup makes it easy though. Most games even have community shared layouts you can choose from. |

Interesting, I've read reports of people doing some wild things with the S.D. Like hooking up an external GPU or even switching it to Windows O.S. Im extremely jealous I gotta say. Now I can't get "Riders on the Storm" song out of my head.
