Put on Hawk pads and kumho tires in preparation for a track day on saturday. This will be my first with the new suspension. Tomorrow she will get a bath and I will put on the numbers that my daughter cut for me and I will be good to go.

Started before the Easter weekend and technically finished (more or less) today:
Major update. Installed facelift headlights, Valenti side markers, OLM Nightseeker fog lights (so any and all exterior lights are LEDs only), full genuine STI bodykit, diffusor, STI style cluster gauge, new lug nuts, new head unit with perfect fit, lowered the 3rd brake light to sit flat on the hat rest, black trunk logos, some more interior goodies, and some other stuff I surely forgot.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the OEM+ BRZ V 2.0!

Thanks, I'm actually pretty proud that the end result matches the goal I had in mind.


I had the duck tail spoiler custom made by a member of the German forums, and applied a small rubber lip around the edges, which i sourced from the German Rocket Bunny retailer.
The duck tail itself is inspired by the TRD one, however it's a custom mold without the additional "flaps" towards the rear badges.

It's even road legal in Germany, which is quite a feat.

So, last year I got a dog:




He hates car rides no matter what I try. I always use a seatbelt harness thing attached to the back bench, but since our cars' cabin is so tight already, he can almost entirely climb into the front and try to escape _while I am driving_.

He's made driving with him lowkey and sometimes highkey dangerous.

I've struggled with different suggestions and products. I've tried the box/car seat thing, he was able to climb out of it and it would not work.

I learned about the hammocks for dogs that go on rear seats. Bought one but it was way too big for our back seat.

I bought a very simple divider thing to hang from the front seats' headrests, but because of the center console and stuff there was basically nowhere to keep the bottom snug, so that didn't work.

I found out one of the hammock companies makes a half-width one, so I decided to give that a try.

I actually bought it a couple of months ago but gave up at the time because basically no matter what, all these companies assume any car with backseats also has headrests for those backseats for straps to go around. Of course ours does not, the headrests are just molded out of the bench.

So I put my hacky thinking cap on and today gave it another painful try (have I mentioned how F-ing cramped that backseat is yet and how much you have to contort your body to work around in it without hurting yourself??).

I removed the cap on the passenger side for the child car seat anchor. Unfortunately all of the straps for the hammock are too thick. But then I was like, wait, don't I still have some teeny zip-ties around somewhere??

Like, literally tiny ones, maybe 2 or 3inch long lol.

So I decided to use one zip-tie for one strap to the car seat anchor. I then wrapped another of the straps with buckle through one of the "legs" of the third brake light. I'm not 100% confident because I don't know how much pull that piece can take, but my dog is only around 22lb so I'm _hoping_ he doesn't go full-nuts and somehow snap it off (lol).

I need to see if I can get the straps any tighter just to keep the sides more taut. But it seems like it's fairly sturdy for the time-being. I'll be testing it tomorrow when I drive ~40 miles to my parents place for Mother's Day.

Hopefully this will help make Haru a bit safer and, eventually, more comfortable in the car. I want to be able to take him on funner, long drives to go exploring and this is a big hurdle on the way to that.

I could never get any dog I've ever owned to go along with any car restraints, so yea, can't have them on spirited drives. I survived a childhood in cars with no seatbelts. Be safe, and you'll probably be fine.

My dogs now are totally different between the two. They are 85 and 105 lbs, so they are not in the sports cars. But in the trucks, Princess loves drives and sits in the front and watches everything. Ochi lays in the back and often gets car sick.

Yeah right now he can't handle being in the car at all. He gets a massive panic attack and tries desperately to escape. So having him completely loose would be too dangerous. Hoping this helps him start to feel more comfortable so we can work on reducing how scared he gets and then eventually maybe try without anything.

Interesting. I've had dogs my entire life except when in college (and even then I had a dog at home). I've never had one that didn't love to ride in a car. Usually it's the opposite, it's hard to keep them out of it.

If our current Newfie comes out to the garage and you have the door open she tries to climb in both the Mustang and the FRS.

Upgraded and refreshed the brakes.

DBA 5000 2-piece rotors in the front
Centric high-carbon blanks in the rear
Hawk HP+ pads on both ends
Stoptech STR600 fluid

Brakes feel and work way better than OEM. Getting a little bit of squeal, but it was expected.

Wasn’t today but retrofitted a 2017+ cluster. I’m loving it but I wish the oil temp readout was a bit more exact.
