Hey what operating temps are you seeing? I got 85C while a doing a quick match. Should I have the GPU at balanced settings and not Quiet?

Hey,

85c is perfectly fine I wouldn't worry unless you go over 90c core and over 100c junction.

I'm on water so I'm usually ~40-45c core and 55c junction.

I wonder if the temperature reported by Warzone is core or junction. I'll have to enable the AMD performance monitor to look at temps. Right now I have it on balanced and temps were in the high 70s and low 80s. It is an absolute monster though, I might need to set a limit on the FPS to prevent screen tearing, I was in the upwards of 240 FPS at 1440 on normal, around the same at 1080 on Ultra settings.

Put down the diagnostics and play the game!

If nothing’s throttling, it’s fine. The temps in the factory fan curves and boost clock tables are conservative enough. Unless your fans are maxed out and you have throttling/crashing issues don’t worry about temps.

That's the thing, even thought this card is pretty amazing in terms of performance, some games are not optimized for the AMD drivers. Warzone to be exact still suffers from stutters. It has been reported that the game will crash and the GPUs not functioning correctly.

I also don't know if it's throttling because the in-game performance monitor can only show me so much on what is actually happening, I had to do the same with the 3070ti, took some tweaking, but I got it to where the temps where consistent along with performance. Had I switched to another NVIDIA GPU I would probably be fine, but I switched companies so I have to re-learn everything.

Sold the 3070ti within hours of posting on my workplace forums. Asking $600, got the same amount. Not great, considering what I paid, but I guess it just gives me joy to being able to give someone a long awaited GPU. Can't bring myself to up-sell things.

I have ALWAYS used AMD/ATI video cards, all the way back to the VGA Wonder card. I have never had a video game issue I'm aware of, but of course unless I was using both I might not realize it was a problem and not a feature.

Well, got the temperature thing sorted out. The BIOS fan curve settings were set to stock. Mainly because my radiator is front-mounted and linked to the CPU, it only cools as much as the CPU needs and not the whole case. Is a little louder now, but the temps have significantly gone down all around. CPU sits around 42C and GPU around 65-68ish at core.

Fiscal dilemma (lucky to have such a problem): The current gen cards are almost acceptably priced. The next gen coming out towards the end of the year are supposedly going to be much faster. The new cards will be more expensive than current gen.

I don't need next gen, current gen will be more than enough for my wants but new gen is new gen. Y'know, new and shiny and would be current gen until next gen.
Admittedly, I'm not losing any sleep over this.

EVGA Seems to be one of the few companies that keeps some sort of stock. Great quality too.
