Valid concerns, but I can assure you that my EX-1012's are on there really snug, no moving around or sagging due to weight (guessing about 1lb each). I had to remove the included washers to get mine to fit, but the three bolts actually distribute even force on the stock pipe via little shims and they provide room for adjustment to get it perfectly centered around the stock pipe. They havent moved on me yet and I gave them a good tug straight backward to make sure they were tight and not going to slide off after vibrating.

I believe the 1012 is a bit bigger inner diameter than the 1013 after seeing someone elses pics in this thread...

Used a small ratchet and it wasn't really an issue. Also, I pushed the tips on pretty far, so there isn't much weight hanging off the pipe. On these tips, there is one bolt right at the bottom, similar placement to the JDM anyway, with the addition of two at the top.

I just might have preferred bolts screwed up against the pipe, more like the stock type, but that would be more difficult to permit adjustability.

These were scheduled to arrive on the 9th. But I have them at home now. Lucky me! Will be posting pictures in my journal when I'm done installing.

I'll manage this no doubt but alignment tips if any, are welcomed.

I had to take the included washers out from inbetween the bolts and the shims to get the shims to back out enough and slip the tip on over the stock pipe. You'll probably need to do the same. Just slide them back until right before the pipe begins to curve to the muffler, youll notice when the tips start to point left or right instead of straight back. Then tighten the inside (top left for passenger side, top right for drivers side) bolt/shim first, then the bottom, then the 3rd one. Back up and look straight into the tip and make sure the stock pipe is centered inside the tip, then stand above the bumper and eyeball both tips to make sure they are even and one isn't sticking out farther than the other.

I didn't have to remove anything on the tips I ended up using (labeled EX-1013) to get them to slide on the stock pipe, so this might depend on which ones you use. I also have my tips pushed in extra far, but I don't think my stock pipe is perfectly centered inside the tip. If you push the tips in more I think you give up some centering...so it's up to you to play with them until you're happy with how they look.

I THINK 1012 might be bigger inner diameter but slightly smaller outer diameter. Don't quote me on that though.

I took few pics for comparison which would help member whoever interested in these cost effective upgrade mod over stock tips. I already ordered a pair of EX1013.

EX1013 left, EX1012 right: They look the same inner diameter size but the 1013 is a little bigger on the outside.

EX1013, EX1012, EX1017 (oval shape):

Thanks for the comparison pics but my 1012s dont seem to be the same as the ones in your pics. I'm not sure how/why but mine dont have the same inner thickness. Maybe I'm wrong? Compare with pic below.

The reason is they don't provide the inner dia size on the outlet tips. When I first looked at the 1012, the inner dia seem bigger than the 1013. Then I put it side by side it look the same inner dia and the 1012 has thinner thickness due to smaller outter diameter (3.875" vs 3.75" )

Also, as I noted above, I found numerous tips with identical labels/specs that were CLEARLY different tips. So if you buy two tips, look over them very carefully to make sure they are the same...don't just trust the labels.

UPDATE: I was able to get the exhaust tips basically straight, but I had to pull them out a bit. Originally I had them pushed in pretty far, which looks nice...but the pipes begin to curve and you can't really get the tips straight like that. Perhaps shorter tips would work better...I think the JDM ones are 1.5" shorter or so.

Here are some quick and dirty pics of how I have them now. Not ideal and a bit hotrod-ish, but I figure this is just a temporary fix until I decide on an exhaust. Too many choices!

This is still a nice improvement on the stock tips IMO:

I installed the 1011s but the right one is not straight. its slightly off.

weird because they are both in same depth but for some reason the right
just wont sit straight.

I had the same issue with my tips, because the pipes start to curve differently once you go further in. You can get them straighter by pulling them out more, so the tips stay on the short straight portion of the pipes.

I knew it . . . I knew it . . . I just couldn't see it clearly enough underneath.

I did pull them out a little more, but I don't know. In my mind, they sat too
far out from the car (at least viewing from side) that I decided to drop them
back.

Its not too noticeably off.
