rattle left rear side

Dear All,

We have bought a 2012 GT86 automatic just a couple of weeks ago. We love the car and is a well fitting addition to our Camry and 2004 MR2.
At higher speeds (100kmh / 60MPH, +) a rattling sounds occurs. It does not sound mechanical but more random. The sounds seems to come from the rear left side and seems to become louder with changing driving direction (up the road or down the road) and or stronger with higher wind speeds. I have checked in several gears and this does not affect the sound. I have checked the underside of the car and could not find any loose heat deflectors or something similar. The only thing I could find being a bit wobbly is the piece of plastic trim (part of the inside of the rear wheel arches) sticking out in front of the rear tire. (door side) I think it is a kind of water or whatever deflector.
I could not find any screws to tighten this. Now my questions:
Does this sound familiar to you?
Could this be our noise?
How to tighten or fix the rattle?

Many thanks in advance for your thought tips and tricks and regards from the Netherlands!

I had a rattle that was driving me insane, turns out my taillight housings weren't bolted tight.

I had my rear bumper repainted and the bolts loosened themselves since they were just hand tight. Probably isn't it but worth checking, since mine seemed sort of random and was worse at higher speeds, and was distinctly in a rear corner.

Yep. It was a very common complaint back in the day

Might be a different kind of rattly noise, but one time i found out my rear seatback wasnt secure properly on one side in the upright position.

Had to drop it down again and really slam it back to secure it on both ends.

Several years ago my '14 had an annoying "rattle" at higher speeds that was caused by missing fasteners on that deflector piece you described (mine was on the right). One of the holes in the part was actually torn, and I believe I added a larger plastic washer to assist the plastic fastener in securing the deflector to the sheet metal.
