My method was to search ‘Toyota dealer’ on google maps in PC browser. Lists all in that general area along the bottom of the window. Go along one by one to each website and check ‘all new inventory.’ It’s tedious but I could check every dealer within 250 miles or so (3 major metros) in 15 mins. Most dealer sites show everything in their pipelines there, though they are slow to update.

Be warned that any manual 86’s you find there will either have been reserved before they hit the site or are waiting for someone to bite on a big markup.

The key is to keep in touch with your sales guy even when you are not looking for a car. The tools they have, especially through Toyota, save you a ton of time. I am learning that the hard way while searching for the GR86.

Oh yes. My initial sales guy was shifty about doing anything for me that might result in me getting the car somewhere else. When I asked about seeing "if there are any in my spec out there" he gave me the now very familiar "we'll let you know" brush off.

I then employed my aforementioned strategy and found a few here and there, all unavailable. But that did lead me to a very cool sales guy that searched the whole system for me a few different times - his suggestion. He found me unreserved cars both times, gave me the dealer names and said good luck! But all of those were being whored out for ADM. Needless to say I have a deposit with the cool guy now, and am hoping he can get me a car before my original dealer.

Fredyz - which color, trim, and transmission are you trying to find?

It may help if people looking for certain color, trim, and transmissions post so if any of us hears of one we can refer each other.

I know someone looking for a Trueno, Premium, manual transmission on the west coast that is willing to trade for their allocation on the east coast so they do not have to pay for shipping back to the west coast.

I am also looking for a Trueno, base or premium, manual transmission on the west coast.

I know where to get a Raven, base, auto in the mid-west that is sitting on the showroom floor.


I guess I should say markup cap too - I don't want to pay more than $x,xxx markup.

Just placed an order for a Base, Manual, Red. In Alberta, was told a 4-5 month wait. At MSRP, No add ons. Super stoked.

Just need to sell my 2017 now.

I sold my 2017 BRZ LTD/AT for $25,000 last November. That was very close to what I paid for it new. I sold it to one of those national car stores as it was quick and I have another ride. I had two other buyers who would match the price, but they wanted me to wait while they raised the cash. The problem was that they couldn’t get a loan big enough because their banks were going by the true trade price that was $10,000 less and did not accurately reflect the crazy used car market. Garage kept and low miles had people coming to look at it from all over.

Kind of bad news, for people that have cars on the West Coast in a or f status. Port of Benicia where incoming Toyota cars land from Japan had a fire over the past weekend. Hoping it does affect operations too much. My reserved gr86 was allocated beginning of this month and is on its way from Japan now. Hoping the Port will be reopened by the time the ship arrives.

At least the ship has not capsized or sunk as seems to be the trend as of late.

I'm looking for premium MT in red. I have multiple deposits so may eventually have multiple allocations (awfully wishful thinking but it's possible.) I'll keep them all on the hook until I have the keys to one, but once I have a car I'd def pass on any other allocation(s) to someone on here.

Picked up the car yesterday for msrp from Capitol Toyota in Salem, OR. It's so damn good (even in AT IMO). I have a JZA70 MT with 600whp as a weekend car, but this thing drives like no other, even better than the gf's Hakone (trans update and that bump in displacement are noticeable for sure).

Good going. I got my BRZ just down the block also for MSRP. Other dealers in the region wanted to add $3,000 or more market adjustment and only give me the guaranteed Subaru trade-in price for my 2017 BRZ. How long did it take from when you ordered to delivery and did you get what you wanted?

Trueno is so hot. Sorry BRZ guys, the two best looking colors for the new twins IMHO (Neptune and Trueno) aren't even offered on the BRZ.
