Clutch rating
So I did quite a bit searching for a torque rating of the stock clutch.. I came across numbers ranging from 235 ft-lb wheel torque ( dont know which dyno) 90 ft-lb wheel torque.
The stage 1 Exedy clutch which is allegedly produced on the same line as the stock clutch has a rating of 166 ft-lb wheel torque (again dont know which dyno) but also mention that the components should hold 40% more load than the stock. To throw in another variable, you have Jackson racing supercharger website claiming they have run thousands of their CARB legal tune (makes 45% more torque on the stock clutch ) without any problems. Stock clutch is rated to slip before munching the transmission outright. Keep it. JR is correct.
