Super exciting stuff here... got my trunk mat. Looks and fits really nice. Too expensive but I had $350 in parts credit from Subaru so I won't complain about free.

So I had my roof wrapped in black but used a style I saw elsewhere. I said why not since I was going to do a black roof anyway to match my wife's RAV4. I'll get a day time pic of ours together later.

Second on Sound clips please (please include some under load, accelerating away)..

Bigger question for me though, is the CE light on, or is that O2 sensor extension working to keep it at bay?

I've driven it four miles home, I'll share videos of cold start free-rev shortly.

I did do a quick spin with the header and stock exhaust and it's *very* quiet. Barely louder than stock.

This J pipe defouler is supposed to prevent the CEL, I guess I'll find out.

My process is to wait until the engine is fully warmed up before goosing it, then plenty of hard (50%) acceleration and engine braking events with plenty of time in between to avoid elevating oil temps, keeping it under 4k. No idle, minimal highway cruise. There is no further bedding in of the rings happening after 150mi.
Any of you guys changing tranny or diff fluid after break in?

Living in sunny HI & CO that seems crazy to me. I'm actually considering having only the roof panel of my white GR86 wrapped in chrome because it's supposed to stay cooler than white.

Question for you. I've heard plenty of EJs with UEL Headers in person, but I've never heard an FA or FB with them in person. Going by sound clips online, it always appeared to me like an FA/FB with UEL Headers didn't sound anywhere near as deep as the EJ25 in the outgoing STI, and sounded a bit more...fizzy? If that's the right work for it... Is that accurate in your view? I've got two FA engines (WRX and BRZ) and I'm trying to figure out whether I want to go the UEL road with either in future...

Sounded great on my first gen, IMO. Deep and bassy, but with a little more bark than on the turbo cars.

I have no plans to do so. I’ve changed tranny fluid in the past in a futile attempt to improve crappy shift feel but don’t think I’ll have that worry with this car.
