Fr-s rear end
i am finally getting my ls into the car which will be a lot of fun but i am concerned about the rear end of the car. With stock tires and wheels i should be okay but i would like to add some bigger wider tires in the future. i am planning on doing a ford 8.8 swap but i am concerned how much power the unibody can handle. if anyone knows the limits of the fr-s body it would be muchly appreciated.

You aren't going to have any issues with the body. There are plenty of people running 265's all the way up 335's with over 800whp on swap setups without issue.

If your planning to make enough power that you feel concerned about the chassis being able to take it, I’d imagine you would be adding a cage. That would strengthen the chassis quite a bit.

275s semi slicks with significant aero here, at around 380whp (na ls1 setup for road race and time trials). I dont launch the car, it only uses 1st and 2nd to iddle/limp around the paddock so maybe im not the toughest on the equipment but so far its all good. I do have a full cage, that probably helps with chassis strenght.

Why even swap at all?
The stock diff takes supra parts. WTF kind of power are you thinking of? |
