Is that the position that the OEM Subaru bracket sits, or is that the one you drilled, so it sits lower?

Drove slowly to work in some snow. Not ideal but handled it well.

Then after work, I picked up a mint set of first gen take offs to use in the winter.

Finally, I stopped by the DIY wash just to use the high pressure water to blast off all the salt. Should be 50 this weekend and it will get a proper wash.

Why drive slow on snow/ice when you could go fast

Installed my STI duracon shift knob (ST35022ST400). I got mine from Black Hawk Japan, but Subispeed has them in stock. It took longer to get here, but the total cost was about the same.

Swapped out the winter wheelset, installed crash bolts for more camber, flushed out the OE brake fluid for higher temp, and installed higher temp pads. The pad clips on these cars are odd and annoying. Haven't driven the car yet, but 3 presses of the tpms button did not yield a psi readout as it states in the manual (had the sensors previously paired as a 2nd set at the dealer before they were fitted to the wheels).

Finally, past the break-in period! The car is amazing above 5k; really fun tying corners together in the higher revs.

Got a Crosstrek spare tire from a junkyard and put it in the car.
I noticed theres basically no insulation in the spare tire compartment, just painted metal. So I had this roll of thin foam insulation lying around, cut a circle out of it and stuck it in there.
Also theres already a nut welded into the floor, which is nice. I found a bolt with a proper thread and drilled a hole in a small piece of wood to use it as an improvised spare tire hold down bracket.
Also happy that all the stuff I had in the organizer fit into the spare tire, so the floor is perfectly flat.
Very happy with this purchase and a peace of mind from having a proper sparetire, not just a fix-a-flat kit.

Installed the sti transmission mount and Cusco differential rear collar mount. Really eliminated a lot of the slack. There's a little bit of gear whine if you listen close enough, especially in 6th gear. There was a bit more NVH though. Not a lot but noticeable.

I got my windows tinted. I went with XPEL PRIME XR BLACK 35. It states that it blocks 78% of the infrared light. I doubt it will keep it cool in the summer down south.

Installed my a129 duo plus dashcams. At first I was intimidated by cable management and fiddling with the trim, but it was way easier than I anticipated. I just tucked the wires behind the headliner, into the a pillar trim, then behind the trim on the side of the glove box. For the rear, I did the same path, but went high behind the top of the a pillar piece, then into the headliner above the passenger door, down the b pillar and along the top of the tiny window. I was able to stuff about 5' of excess cable into the c pillar behind the trim, then along head liner to the cam. There's no wires showing at all, couldn't be happier!!

Word of caution with the C pillar cable management - there's a lot of space back there so you might end up with a rattle if you didnt wrap up/secure the cables first.
