I don't understand why people are asking whether his story is true or not.
Doesn't really matter O.o

Regardless, the availability of the FRS is dependent on where you're from - in OC when I was looking for one there were tons, just had to look around to find one.

Bumpers are well bumpers.... Designed to move and absorb a hit. Most damage would be underneath to the absorbers and mounts. Hoods do not.

I took a nice hit in the rear at a stop light in my TC could just see a few scratches and the hole punched in by the plate bolts. But then underside was a mess..

People just want to make it your fault so they can bitch about the insurance going up ...

I am sure the insurance company can find you a replacement even if they have to truck it in!

based on how little damage is on the rear, as long as the rad support isnt bent I think you are gonna be fiiiiiine. Might take a bit longer since the car is so new, its hard to get parts in a timely manner, plus this car still doesnt show up in a lot of various electronic databases out there.

Did the airbags deploy? If they did, I think you might have a totaled car.....the front damage looks extreme.

Damn that sucks. So far you would've been the only one nearby with an FR-S that i've seen. Are you planning on getting another one?

you should fight to get insurance to total that thing. i would not be happy owning that thing even if it was fixed immaculately. i would rather wait 8 months for another frs than to continue to own 1 that i know has been severely damaged and repaired.

If it makes you feel better, both of these accidents happened to my STI within 2 weeks of purchasing it.

First one happened in my driveway, neighbor slammed their jeep into it. I think the estimated repair cost was in the $7500 range. It doesn't look too bad in this picture, but it twisted that whole corner. Notice, I dont even have a plate on it yet.

Second one was at a stop light. The lady went to run the yellow, but stopped last second and was out in the intersection. I had a car right behind me, and she started backing up into me. I was honking, but couldnt move without hitting the car behind me, so I just took the hit. I guess I don't have any pictures I can find.

Life goes on! Car was fixed up, and I had no issues selling it for a good amount when the time came!

It's definitely OEM parts.... It takes awhile for aftermarket stuff to come out. Even then, certain cars have only OEM parts. (older IS300s don't have bumper covers available, so they get stolen a lot in my area)

For most insurance companies, if the damages reaches about 75 -80% of value of car, it's a total lost.

I work at a body shop, so I keep checking the estimating program to see if our cars are added yet. On my computer, it hasn't.... And my insurance took a few days to get me a premium since it seems to not exist, lol.

BC, I totally feel bad for you. My wife and I were driving north on PCH in bumper-to-bumper US Open traffic and saw a tow truck's flashing lights up ahead. We when got closer we saw your car on the side of the road. You were stopped in front of the Hyatt and surrounded by gawkers. I'm glad no one was hurt and it wasn't your fault. The traffic was crazy that day and full of inexperienced drivers paying attention to everything else but driving. . I hope the insurance company does right by you.

Good luck with this!
I think at this point, only OEM parts exist.

I had my 2009 Honda Fit's windshield crack from a pebble shortly after I got it in 2008. Insurance paid for it, but since it was a new body, there were no cheap substitutes; OEM was the only option the glass repair people could find.

That was me! What a coincidence that you were there when it happened. There were so many people pointing and saying "OHHHhhhhhh u fucked up, etc etc", not knowing the accident was not my fault at all.

Good news everybody, my car was transported from the towing company lot after a state farm agent did a damage report. He told me that there isnt any internal damage, except something about a certain part that holds the radiator (i'm not very educated about cars) and body work on both my bumper/fender and hood. He also said im guaranteed factory OEM parts completely covered by insurance since my car is under 1200 miles. Tomorrow im going in to go over the repairs and sign paper work at the repair shop (the shop is a certified toyota repairs shop at a honda dealer) and hopefully, they can get the parts in and my frs running again! thanks everyone for the kind words..still going to be an frs driver afterall

You poor bastard.. Hope you're ok physically. Thats what really matters. Insurance will take care of the rest.

As much as an anger induced rage would seem to be the immediate thing to do.. i highly recommend you keep cool in a situation like this. That's what insurance is for. Call 911 espescially if anyone is hurt and go from there. im sure it was just a figure of speech but did you see that road rage video a few weeks back? think twice before causing a scene while you're already on a scene.. because before you know it you could be en route to a hospital due to an ass kicking. less is more
