Funny hearing so many say "Oh I would NEVER eat or drink in my car".
My thoughts are more along the line of "How can anybody NOT eat or drink in their car?"
Then I remember that there are a pile of people that put less than 10,000 miles a year on their vehicles.
In non pandemic times I can put as much as 35,000 miles (55,000 kilometers) a year on my car. You better believe I will indeed eat and drink in my car. Even my 45 minute commute every single workday is made bearable by having my coffee.
I get it if you rarely drive or it is just a toy but my car is a tool that I use everyday and I also eat and drink every day so...

I remember a day when you weren't sure you were bringing it to the meet because there was rain in the forecast!

No doubt there are several that only drive it occasionally that eat and drink in it. I was referring more to the guys that seem to be shocked that people do. I bet a poll would show most do not spend a pile of commute time in the drivers seat.

Yea, still don't drive it in the rain. 7 years now with the original wiper blades.

i got into that debate a few times with some nurse friends...

apparently, if one's pee is any tinge of yellow, you're dehydrated. full stop. also, one should drink 10 full glasses of water a day. if you don't, you'll die of dehydrations.

i lol'ed at them, and told them if i drank that much, i'd never get any work done, i'd be in the bathroom all day!

From my experience (cycling) drinking enough water to pee clear = cramps, guaranteed. At that point the system is overly flushed and getting the electrolytes back will take time. In that regard, drinking too much water can REALLY hurt you haha. Even drinking regular (very sugary) gatorade it's easy to over-flush the system and put you in the hurt locker, depending on the activity of course.

Even the rarely drive/toy scenario, for me that means a cup of coffee and some kind of snack that goes well with the coffee. That and a nice drive into the country just go together. Need that coffee cup below half full and the fingers fully clean before getting into anything spirited

I think this all just relates back to our intent with the car, Is it your daily driver or is it a toy you're tricking out and going to the track. I am going to be using mine as a daily driver, but I'd like my car to look nice and be fun when I want to drive it that way. That's more of my reason for going AT.

As a daily driver there are some things I enjoy, like not having my passenger seat chime when I place my phone in it and having a cup holder.

Also the umm additional 2 bottle holders they have in the middle console, is that entire thing removable? Could I take the double cupholders out?

You can. What would you put in its place?

You're getting an automatic for the cupholder? I'm gonna get a rope.

To be more clear, you can remove the whole cupholder assembly and be left with a hole to the top of the driveshaft tunnel. You can't just remove the cupholder part.

Ok, well that doesn't sound as appealing as removing the cupholder part. I just got called my car is coming in on Friday.
