Dying Light 2 at 5 hours.
It is more of the same game play wise, which I don't mind. The world is very pretty. Key bindings are a bit glitchy. I have a 1080 ti and I'm playing at minimum graphical preset.
So far so good.

The default jump key is space bar but I like to have space bar for health. Jump in the control settings has been set to right shift key. This works except for transferring from one hold to another off the ground. So effectively there are 2 jump keys. I'm having trouble with this.
I can't find an .ini file to mod.

The best news I've ever read. Toms Hardware just released an article warning people about mining crypto. Apparently it would take more than 500 days in order to break even. All being affected by the volatility of the crypto market and the uncertainty of the future regarding the currency. This is great news as it would reduce the number of GPUs being swiped off shelves at the rate that they are, and it would reduce the prices on scalper websites. Is not much, but is a step in the right direction.

Not sure that'll help anything but people w/o the money to invest in a gamble spending to try this particular scheme to become rich with a life of leisure. Really it's just making a few people very very rich.

This is sort of PC gaming related since the computer is a Raspberry Pi.

Since the car is in the shop waiting for the DNR order to kick in, and the plane is in the shop for its annual inspection, nothing much motor related to do this weekend. So, working on assembling the 3/4 Atari Arcade machine my kids gave me for Christmas. We had wait for the vinyl skins to get in because Micro Center forgot to give them to them when they picked it up at our local store. Fortunately, it comes in four boxes and they scan each as they check them out so they knew they had forgotten one).

First time I've tried to apply vinyl to anything, but what I'm finding out is that at least on flat surfaces all my wallpaper experience makes it a snap. I also learned I enjoy it just about as much as hanging wallpaper...

Picture of the left side panel, ready for final trim. Right panel has the Centipede running up it.

The control panel has all the buttons and joysticks attached ready for wiring. There's Plexiglas over the graphics to protect it.

Nah, you got it right. It will never be real currency because A: nobody is dumb enough to accept it as payment and B: it's primary value driver is it's instability relative to anything of tangible value.

Yeah I preordered that for my PS5 (sorry I know this is a PC gaming thread but I do have Steam on my PC). mostly to finally have something to test the graphics of my PS5 on my 85" QLED 120hz Samsung TV finally which I have had for years now thinking I was going to get the PS5 on release date (lol). Also I'm a bit of a fanboy of the series regardless of the lack of car damage and that it isn't open-world. People say that makes it feel arcadey. I think it's actually one of the most in-depth sims outside of that though just gets a bad rap. It does have some arcade modes and whatnot but I love that shear depth of the selection of cars, the details of the cars, the real-time dynamic weather is going to be awesome in GT7, and in terms of the driving physics I think it's one of the better ones, if not the best. (Just MHO though)...

Actually I think it's been said the car damage issue is partly because they work so closely with the manufacturers and they really don't want give data on the weaknesses. Just not their focus..

I think the lack of damage detracts from the immersion, though. I also don't see why they don't want to show damage data as that should be public information lol. I just see it as playing a military sim, but they don't want to show the reload animations because they don't want other countries to know how their guns work. Still, I do LOVE the driving physics of GT. They do a fantastic job on that part and it's something I like about it.

27 hours of Dying Light 2.
I see a similarity with Cyber Punk '77: buggy launch, weak story, repetitive missions, FREAKIN' AWESOME WORLD. The world is beautiful and huge with so much detail.

with the shift in programming-- get out first, patch later-- i am much less judgemental of initial releases of games. as long as they come back around and fix it, it'll work.

it also helps that i've never bought a game in the first year...
