So far I have two people asking for these BumperPlugs. That gets us down to $75 each person, but you get two sets of plugs. Then you could eBay the second set if we want. I will let more people join over the weekend before we decide to order or not.

If you ask on Instagram or Reddit you'll get more traction. Or on the Facebook Groups until some other platform does groups and clubs better.

Not sure how I feel about pushing in the threaded sleeves, but I am looking for something to do with the front of the car.

I'd really like to simply put small, body colored bolts in those holes and call it a day, but the lump left by the plate mount looks a little strange.

I'd almost go for one of those Billetworkz plates if it was body colored too. Though it is small enough it might not be too distracting. It would be funny to debadge my car and then stick a "BRZ" plate on the front...

All that said, there is still the matter of where to put the plate if I need to display it. Hopefully Carbino will have a mount for the 2nd gen BRZ, but I doubt it will show up any time soon.

The grimspeed plate relocation kit works great I have had it installed since I got my plates and it hasn't moved a millimeter since I put it in

Disclaimer on that website got updated to:
“2022 BRZ models have threaded inserts in factory holes. These must be removed prior to installing the plugs. They come out when you slightly push in.”
I am wondering, where threaded inserts are going after you slightly pushing them in…

Maybe I'm over simplifying things, but is there any reason you couldn't get two screws, paint the heads with touch up paint, and screw them into the threaded sleeves?

I'm thinking a couple small hex head screws would work and not look too bad.

And then what happens if you decide you want (or are pretty much forced to keep your registration) to put a tag on the front? Or, not that anyone probably cares, what happens for the next owner that may need/want to run a front tag..

Back in the day when I wanted to get bumper plugs I would ask a mechanic doing delivery prep for some and get a free handful. They would remove them and discard to place the dealer plate.(we only have the rear plate here) I don’t know if there are models from the factory anymore that still use them pre delivery.

There are dedicated locations on a front bumper where you can put a plate mounting screws. Same as on most of the cars. Same as on BRZ rear bumper.

Nothing wrong with it, as long as fastener head shape is what you want to be there.
And touch up is more appropriate for small dots.
To properly paint larger surfaces, you might want more complex process, if you want paint to last and to have right look.

For the fasteners I figured a hex screw or one with flat-ish domed head would look better than holes and wouldn't require pushing in the threaded sleeves like the plugs do.

Good point on the paint. I have see some kits have the paint in small jars with brushes and include clear coat. Figured that would work better than the paint pens you typically see. The head of a screw is a pretty small area.

Just thinking out loud...

I think that the smallest flat head screw would look the best.
For bonus points, use body filler to fill in the screw head and sand it smooth, then paint it and screw it in by hand.

Has anyone tried to put a pop clip in it? Black is universal and probably wouldn't look too bad as long as it stayed in.

I am done with the front bumper for now. I got these at Ace Hardware and they match the black trim nicely.
