Dam,,,, sorry to hear about this. In my very unprofessional opinion, it looks like a deck lid and a bumper,, maybe the crash bar. Doesn't seem right to total it. That said, have the insurance companies adjusted what they pay with the hyper inflated used car market we have now??

As a sidebar,, how many miles you got on it now??

Dadhawk, maybe it was meant to happen. Just yesterday you said if your car caught fire today you're not sure you would get a gen 2. Well, looks like it caught fire today.

Good luck either way.

All the damage is focused on the left side of the car. Nothing much on the right at first glance, but I didn't spend a lot of time with it this AM.

Don't know about the insurance company situation, guess we'll see.

I'm right at 198,000 miles (hence the question on total or not totaled)

$5-6K is my guess assuming the far side isn't damaged at all. Probably not totalled if the insurance company has done their homework.

Why did you let that happen?

It’s such a nice color.

Check around how much these go for in your area just
to be ready for the 1st insurance offer IF they total it.
We sometimes don’t realise the value of what we
have and the insurance will lowball their first offer
(Been there and was glad I had done my homework)

Hope it gets repaired to your satisfaction in any case.

The saddest part of this particular car is that it was actually a pretty special one. It was one of the "First 86" delivered to the customers during a big ceremony.
