They are a momentum plane. If you don't get them you just don't know how to fly.

"There's an open recall on your car for the fuel lines. Looks like some of the fittings can leak. There aren't any parts available yet, but Alfa should let you know when they are."
"The car isn't at risk of catching fire, is it?" "Shouldn't be." *Italian car intensifies* |

Just so I don't rant and then leave it open-ended: When I got to the dealership I dealt with the advisor who scheduled the appointment and not the manager. The entire diagnostic process was verifying that the firmware version on the BCM was lower than the updated one for the TSB. It took just over an hour to diagnose, update, perform a multi-point, and then wash the car. No additional upsell attempts. No out of pocket expense.
We did talk about the alignment. He said even if I agreed he would have said it wasn't needed when I got there. Apparently they get a lot of complaints about the stock tires on all Alfas wearing faster than people think they should, and have learned that they are particularly sensitive to misaligned toe. While the QV tires are a gimmick for performance numbers, the normal Ti and Q4 tires should last a lot longer. I didn't bring up the amount they were charging. The advisor isn't the one who sets the prices. I did park a bit further away from the garage than I normally do.
