I wouldn't buy any FCA product if my life depended on it because I once sold FCA products... I've seen the welds on a JL Jeep Wrangler. Not exactly the same but enough for me to stay away.

I've had three FCA/Stellantis products over the years. The Neon sucked, but that was 1994. The 500e and Ram were peachy. But Alfa is especially bad.

The 4cyl giulias seem to be okay per their forums with software updates seeming to fix most issues. The engine appears to be stout. Quadro appears to have more issues. The dealer network also seems to be poor/inconsistent with some charging absolutely bonkers amounts for basic services.

I believe the front suspension geometry is unchanged from the first version.

If that is true then 18x8.5 +48 with about 1.5* of camber will fit with about 3 to 4 mm of clearance to the spring perch. That's what I had on my 1st gen before I put on coilovers.

As of now I am planning on keeping the suspension stock, except for some crash bolts to get to 1.5* of camber so fingers crossed it will still fit. I won't know until the spring though.

I talked to a local speed shop this week and asked about the Ohlins. They said that they had made a call, that Ohlins was still testing with the newest BRZ, and an updated coilovers were still a ways out.

If this isn’t right, what should we do instead in terms of suspension options?

With a big chunky spacer up front yes.
