The way on Tyler's car is the "correct" way and it doesn't look to bad. However, I really don't like the offset look (like grimmspeed or perrin) so I think I prefer the way it is on your car.

It's unfortunate that the correct way also results in two holes through the black plastic grill :-/

I ended up punching two new holes in my plates, to match those drill holes, and mounting mine lower...would have preferred a grimmspeed and no drilling, but, c'est la vie!

Fair enough, for your location, however not everyone has the same size plates as you and there are definitely hotter places in the civilised world than where you live.

Not having a go at you man, just might not be the best thing to be telling whole the world to do as a viable option. There are people who may not know better. and I certainly would not want to be responsible for the knowledge that overheated a persons new car in bumper to bumper scenario.

Peace.

Cool - I just took off the plate mount, used that as a template to mark out where to put the new holes, and drilled through!

I didn't. The factory mount left two holes in the black plastic drill, i just used the same screws from that mount, into the same holes, seems snug enough!
