It might cost a little extra ($80) to get a tow hook mount but it is SO not worth drilling holes in your bumper. (Well, you can replace the bumper, but that's gonna really cost you!)
I'll save you the search:
here is the Perrin

and here is the Grimmspeed.

Take your pick!

Or, apparently you can use the stock mount and not drill into the bumper at all, just use the bottom holes mounted into the grille mesh bumper area. Check THIS out!

Please, for the sake of any future owner of your car, DON'T DO IT!!
Personally, I dislike that look. But it is certainly better than drilling the bumper.

The guy who mounted his to the grill has a pretty good idea, for those like me that prefer symmetry.

No offense, but I'd rather have a car with a few zip ties than a bunch of pretend badges...

Sorry, I'm having an angry-coffee morning and I don't have my plates yet either.

Here's how I mounted my plate when I had my S2000 and plan on doing a similar thing when my plates come in for the FRS:

I would not mount a large blanking plate in the center of a hole which the car requires to cool efficiently. Also there would be wind noise where there wasnt any before. Have you wondered why the mesh is filled to the bottom of the license plate bracket? This is to stop turbulance behind the plate. Car companies know this. There are better options out there. Get the side plate conversion kit or stick to the standard mounts

What's pretend about it? FR-S owners are driving the same exact car as a GT86. Same engine, same chassis, same body. Only the badges changed. There are hundreds of people on this forum that have bought the Toyota emblems from Carson Toyota and other places to do this, so it feels like you are the minority here. If anything it's doing the car a favor. Same exact situation as the Integra between Japan and here. If you and I are going to keep going at each other's throats every time one of us makes a post then we are going to have to lay down some ground rules first. No gay jokes, that can quickly get you banned. I'll think of some more.

Mine is done this way as well. I didn't even ask for it - that's the way the dealer did it. I can only assume that there are instructions somewhere for this, given that I've seen quite a few plates attached this way. I wonder which is the "correct" way?

Does someone want to buy my front mount like in the pictures above? I do not ever planning on mounting anything to the front of my beautiful bumper.

Yes, this is the factory mount. The issue with it is two-fold:

1) To mount that, they drilled two holes in the black honeycomb grill.
2) The two two bolts holding the plate on, if too long, with mark up your front bumper

Check this site out: www.hidetheplate.com not sure how much under space there is on the FR-S or BRZ bumper cover to mount it, but the motorized version is pretty cool.

There are a few of these but surely up here in Canada the snow would damage that unit :-/ They do look pretty cool though!

I used shorter bolts

1: Reduction in cooling efficiency is negligible in street application and in a track day application (where I forgot to remove it), cooling performance was unaffected.
2: Wind noise was unaffected.
3: The S2000 and the 86 do not need a radiator opening as large as what's there, part of that is "aesthetic design".
