Spare tire in limited models?
Nothing, assuming you take it to a shop to repair the tire where they will clean the sensor off. If you leave the sensor dirty it may mess with its radio performance, but the battery, sensor, and transmitter are sealed in the housing so you can’t really break them by gunking them up. TPMS sensors are mature technology now, this isn’t 2005 where they were brand new and breaking for the stupidest reasons. |

And if you patch the tire yourself with a plug kit, as I've always done, without ever needing to bring a flat anywhere for repair? Oh. I can't do that anymore.

Put sealant in it? No. The missing spare is one of the few serious deficiencies of the new models as far as I'm concerned. If the trunk well still exists to accommodate a spare, I'd get one if I were serious about buying a 2022. But right now, my 2020 has only 6400 miles on it, and I'm not buying.
And assuming that any repair shop will take care of it assumes no difference in the cost, to you, of pulling the tire off the rim to access the sensor and clean it, and remount the tire. In addition to whatever they charge for the 25 cent plug, and labor. |

So did the 2020 have a spare? Could I just buy one of those for the 2022 limited?

Hell, I'll probably contact the local junk yard first to see if they have any totaled cars that still have the spare in it. No spare tire is lame as hell. I haven't received my 2022 yet, but that's my only gripe with the car on paper thus far. |

I dont think there was ever any spare tire delete option. (except maybe that stripped down RC grade option in Japan) Plus in some markets you were able to have a full size spare as opposed to the donut, which cut into the trunk space a little bit |

The US models had a prosthetic donut that fit in the well. Can't really call it a "tire".
The manual says not to travel over 50 miles on it. I think some of the AUS models had a spare tire, but that needed a lump in the middle of the well cover.
