tires are life and death. choose wisely. most crashes around here involve a wet road so rain/wet tires are prudent.

my experience is that tire pressure has almost no bearing on these cars until it gets to very extreme differences. like 5 pounds.

As mentioned start with alignment. If your toe is off it will cause all sorts of weird handling issues.


For deep snow driving Nokian hakkapeliitta R3, Pirelli ice zero FR, continental Vikkingcontact7's.
If you want better dry handling Pirelli sottozeros, or Michelin pilot Alpin PA4 are my picks.

If the shop did an alignment, and didn't reset the steering angle sensor the traction control will freak out which sounds like what you are experiencing. Have a reputable shop check the alignment and recalibrate the steering angle sensor.

yes. because their handling characteristics were entirely unpredictable in any conditions.

but hey, my boss says everything is my fault, so what the hell, of course it's my fault. it can't be faulty equipment, or what i say is the problem, it has to be my fault because if it was someone else's fault then it wouldn't be my fault.

You recognized a deficiency. You drove anyway. You crashed. It's your fault. Cars with shitty tires don't crash themselves.

Something I said many years ago is that there's a time in many young people's lives where they wake up one morning and realize they're the smartest person on the planet. They then get annoyed and ridicule everyone who isn't as smart as them. Most of us grow out of it, the rest seem to move to California.

well i can tell you this the tires make all the difference in this car cold tires do not grab crap tires on these cars says it all the car weights less than 2800 pounds and if you plan on driving it in the winter take your car to a good tire shop and spend some money on a good set of tires
