Also I would agree that the base brakes are more than up to the task of track duty (with proper pads and fluid). However, the bigger brake (option) makes sense for long term consumable costs and thermal management for someone that tracks often. Certainly the lack of a larger brake option from the factory is a dumb reason to disqualify the car in general.

Relative to 2022 OEMs vs "Brembos" / Monoblocks...
Track guys on the stock calipers -- have you not experienced feathering of the pads or caliper spread over time on a non-fixed / floating pin designed caliper? I know the C5 has that problem over time on faster / hotter "brake" tracks. Also, if you are pulling brake pads all the time so your daily pads that are safe, for me, monoblocks are a huge time saver there. If you are also pulling the disc to keep them burnished / matched, not as much. For monoblock calipers (even the Brembos from STi/BRZ I have been using for years), they have been pretty good for those cases and MUCH easier to work on for pad replacement and consistency in braking (less knockback, easy on-site replacement). Might just be me. But, I do prefer / enjoy monoblocks... even more so if we talk about AP Racing solutions, or solutions that allow much deeper pads! |

First properly turn guide pins from under the bumper, then it's easy to put the safety pins from the side of the car by feel. |

On the fronts, yes. Rears, not an issue.

That's still gonna be a no-go, friction is a thing with mine. A couple/few taps with ye olde 3mm punch is super easy and then I can pull them out.

I mean, if you're worried about that, you should also worry that 10 year-olds will carry a wrench around and remove 3 lug nuts from your wheels for funzies. What are 10 year-olds like where you live?! |

Have you tried turning/wiggling the pins while pulling? Works like a charm to me.
Exactly this once happened to someone I know. |
