So are you maybe talking about 66 runs per driver? 132 runs total?
I have a buddy who co-drives on Nankangs, I can check where his are at. |

I wish! 66 total runs. I’ll run them until they cord but I don’t think it’s going to take too long to get there. 16 runs next weekend will probably finish them off.

That's very odd, even for running on concrete.
I expect to finish out the season on mine and probably an event or two to start off next season. |

I think its partly big long courses all these events we've been at. 60-80 second courses have been about the norm. Higher speeds in those courses, and lots and lots of TX heat. Maybe we run the pressures a little low at 30-33psi but we tried higher and lower and settled on those. A fresh set of yoko's is sitting in the garage for nationals so I guess I'll see how many runs we get from those after that.

I can see it being really easy to grind down the Nankangs. I only got 3 runs on them, but they were really playful on my car.

What is everyone revving to RPM wise? I primarily only get to autox at smaller venues. But we now have got access to a larger pad at our Air Base we have access to, and had a number of spots where I was wishing for some more RPM or debating 3rd.

When in doubt shift the 3rd. If you’re not sure check your data on SoloStorm. My last 2 local events I had to shift to 3rd 3 times and the data proved it was totally worth it even in the spots where you only needed 3rd for a few seconds, the extra mph made it so worth it.

7850.
I'm in the "when in doubt, ride it out" camp. At least until you execute a good run. |

I'm in the 'it depends' camp.
If there's a significant enough amount of space after the shift in 3rd (aka 70+ mph course) I'll do it, but shifting usually costs me approx .200 on data so sometimes being on the rev limiter for a small second is worth it more for me. If you have 5-6 runs you have enough to try it both ways and compare what works better for you and then compare if you have a data device to look at. |

Testing the waters out here. I was supposed to drive down to Solo Nationals with my FRS from Canada, but the US land border closure has been extended again. I was already signed up in STX before the bad news Friday. I am considering to fly in if anyone here would like to have a co-driver/crew in STX, please let me know we can discuss a plan and deal. This would be my 3rd Solo Nationals, and I have been in an STX twin for the last 2 years now. Video in my own car

I think my clutch is going. The hard launches with the Yokohama’s seems to be taking it’s toll. Any recommendations for replacement clutches vs OEM. Don’t want to go heavier with pedal stiffness.

Yes I did, I ran in an STS NA. It was quite an overwhelming experience, 90s cars, miata, A052 was all a little much to get the grasp on in one event to do any good on top of being in an underpowered car. I misjudged the rear width of the car and couldn't be clean, and I also realized how much easier it is to drive a STX car than a STS car, so quite a humbling experience. I will come back and appreciate my STX car even more now.
